Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Rangers' Joc Pederson: Slump continues
Pederson went 0-for-4 in Saturday's 9-2 loss to Seattle.
Pederson's string of futility reached 22 consecutive at-bats without a hit, dropping his batting average to .077. He had opened the season batting third or fourth but was dropped to fifth Saturday for a second straight start. Texas manager Bruce Bochy was quick to point out the drop was not a concession to Pederson's struggles, but was instead a move to avoid having three consecutive left-handed hitters after Josh Smith was inserted into the third spot in the order with Wyatt Langford (oblique) on the injured list.

Seiya Suzuki DH | CHC
Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Considered day-to-day
Cubs manager Craig Counsell said after Saturday's win over the Dodgers that Suzuki (wrist) is considered day-to-day, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Suzuki was lifted from Saturday's contest in the top of the fifth inning due to right wrist pain. Counsell said Suzuki initially injured the wrist Monday against the Rangers. If Suzuki is unable to play in Sunday's series finale against Los Angeles, Justin Turner would be the most logical candidate to fill in as the designated hitter.

Suzuki was removed from Saturday's game against the Dodgers due to right wrist pain, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Miguel Amaya pinch hit for Suzuki in the top of the fifth inning. Suzuki initially dealt with wrist discomfort earlier this month when the Cubs were in Sacramento facing the Athletics. Before leaving Saturday, Suzuki was 0-for-2 at the plate. He entered the day slashing .302/.400/.556 with four home runs, 15 RBI, 11 runs scored, one stolen base, 11 walks and a league-high 23 strikeouts.

Ben Rice 1B | NYY
Yankees' Ben Rice: Belts fourth homer
Rice went 2-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Giants.
The 26-year-old slugger took Lou Trivino deep in the sixth inning, ripping a line drive over the fence in the right-field corner that left his bat at 113.2 mph. Rice appears to be headed for a breakout campaign, slashing .310/.431/.690 through 13 games with four homers, five RBI and 11 runs while settling in at the top of the Yankees' batting order -- over his last seven games, Rice has batted exclusively leadoff against right-handed pitching, and second against lefties.

Pasquantino went 3-for-4 with solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Guardians.

On the year, the first baseman is hitting .212 with two homers, 11 RBI and three runs scored across 58 plate appearances. He also owns a 4:7 BB:K so far, a promising sign that his batting average should trend upward as the season progresses.

The 33-year-old is currently tied for the league lead in homers this season, hitting six over 14 games. The veteran infielder also lined a two-out, two-run single into right field and is up to 19 RBI on the season, ranking second behind Aaron Judge (20). Anthony Santander DH | TOR
Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Belts first homer of season
Santander went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Orioles.
Santander had yet to record his first homer as a Blue Jay, but a return to Camden Yards proved to be what he needed to tick that achievement off his list. After grounding out in his first at-bat, Santander took a fastball from Tomoyuki Sugano deep to left-center field for a 409-foot solo home run. Santander has gone 8-for-39 with three runs scored, five walks, one home run, two RBI and 11 strikeouts over his last 10 games.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Rangers' Joc Pederson: Mired in slump
Pederson went 0-for-3 with a walk in Friday's 5-3 loss to Seattle.
Pederson extended a hitless streak to 18 at-bats and is batting .086 (.334 OPS) for his new team. After a career-best season in 2024 while with Arizona, he gambled on free agency and won, getting a two-year deal with the Rangers. Texas viewed him as the answer at designated hitter, a position from which it got a league-low .584 OPS in 2024, but it has not yet worked out. Pederson has just one barrel (3.8 barrel percentage) and a career-worst 30.8 hard-hit percentage.
