  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Cardinals' Marcell Ozuna: Headed to IL with finger injury

Ozuna will be placed on the injured list after injuring the middle finger on his right hand diving back to first base on a pickoff attempt during Friday's game against the Padres, ESPN reports.

Based on the timing, this will sideline him through the All-Star break at the very least. Manager Mike Schildt declined to say whether Ozuna had a broken finger, but he also did not deny that possibility. He had X-rays on Friday and will be further evaluated Saturday, but it is serious enough that he is already ticketed for the IL. Tyler O'Neill could be promoted from Triple-A in a corresponding move, or the Cardinals could opt to just add another pitcher to carry them to the All-Star break.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Homers in win

Dickerson went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Dickerson smoked a solo shot that bounced into the San Francisco Bay in the second inning for his second long ball of the year. The 29-year-old has finally resurfaced after battling a back injury over several seasons. With the way he's playing, there's plenty of potential to include him in deeper fantasy formats. Right now, he's slashing .423/.500/.885 with 12 RBI over eight games.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: On base five times

Turner went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two walks in Friday's 13-9 loss to the Rockies.

Turner did well to keep the line moving, reaching on all five of his plate appearances in the contest. The third baseman is hitting .306/.389/.459 over 75 games this season, adding nine homers, 32 RBI and 42 runs scored.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Crosses home three times

Blackmon went 3-for-4 with an RBI, three runs scored and a walk in Friday's 13-9 win over the Dodgers.

All three of the right fielder's hits were singles, including his RBI single to cap an eight-run fifth inning. Blackmon also established an MLB record by recording at least three hits in six straight home games, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Blackmon's been a beast at Coors Field this season, entering the game with a .458/.507/.992 line in 27 home games, including 14 homers and six triples.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Cardinals' Marcell Ozuna: Injures two fingers

Ozuna suffered injuries to his third and fourth fingers on his right hand Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The team plans to evaluate him again Saturday to determine the extent and severity of the injuries. He was was picked off first base in the third inning and must have suffered the injuries diving back to the base. Ozuna went 0-for-2 (reaching on a fielder's choice) before exiting. Jose Martinez, Harrison Bader and Dexter Fowler would likely see more consistent playing time if Ozuna ends up missing time.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Out again Friday

Carpenter is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres.

No injury has been reported with Carpenter, but he will be held out for a second straight game despite a team off day Thursday, so there is at least some reason for concern about his status. Timmy Edman will man the hot corner and hit leadoff in Carpenter's place.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Back in leadoff spot

Belt will hit leadoff in Friday's game against the Diamondbacks, according to Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News.

Belt is hitting just .203 in June, but he also owns a .380 OBP this month and a .355 OBP on the season, which has led manager Bruce Bochy to give him a shot at or near the top of the order of late. Belt will hit leadoff Friday for the third time in four games, and he hit out of the second spot in the other contest.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Reds' Jesse Winker: Out against southpaw

Winker is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Cubs.

Winker has an .882 OPS in June but will head to the bench Friday with left-hander Cole Hamels on the mound for the Cubs. Phillip Ervin will start in left field and bat seventh in his absence.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Homers in loss

Belt went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk in Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Belt hit his 10th long ball of the season, this time off rookie starter Alex Young in the fourth inning. Unfortunately, the run was the first and last of the night for the Giants. The 31-year-old has now reached base safely in eight straight games to improve his line to .270/.354/.528 with 39 runs scored and 31 RBI.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Collects three hits in loss

Blackmon went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, two RBI and a run scored during Thursday's 12-8 loss to the Dodgers.

Blackmon doubled in his first at-bat and later added a two-run triple, with another base hit sandwiched in between. He came in with just two hits in his last 17 at-bats, but he's a much stronger hitter at home and displayed his affinity for Coors Field once again in this one. Blackmon will face a tough matchup in the second game of the series against Hyun-Jin Ryu on Friday.
