    Back tightness has kept Turner out of the lineup since Tuesday. He reportedly had a shot to return Saturday but needs at least one more day off. He's considered questionable for Sunday's season finale as well but is expected to participate in a simulated game Tuesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. Matt Beaty starts at third base in his absence.

    Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Homers again in win

    Pederson went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's win over San Francisco.

    Pederson put the cap on a five-run second inning with a a 434-foot blast to right field. The 27-year-old has been on a tear in his last three starts, going 5-for-10 with four homers and six RBI. He ranks 11th in the National League with 36 long balls this season and fifth with 12.4 AB/HR.

    Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Opens scoring with 14th homer

    Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 8-2 loss to the Cubs.

    Carpenter's blast came off Cubs starter Alec Mills in the fourth inning. Carpenter also reached after getting hit by a pitch in the seventh. The infielder has 14 homers, 43 RBI and 58 runs scored this season, but he's managed only a .228/.337/.390 slash line in 127 games.

    Marlins' Harold Ramirez: Smacks solo homer

    Ramirez went 3-for-7 with a solo home run in an extra-innings loss to the Phillies on Friday.

    It was the 25-year-old's first home run since Sept. 5 and first three-hit game since Aug. 30, and the three hits raised his September average to .276. He's hitting .274 with 11 home runs, 50 RBI, 53 runs and two steals in 413 at-bats this year.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Homers in win

    Blackmon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's win over the Brewers.

    Blackmon tied the game with a 400-foot homer off Ray Black in the sixth inning. The long ball was the 32nd of the year for the 33-year-old, who leads the Rockies with a .316 batting average.

    Dodgers' Justin Turner: Could start Saturday

    Turner (back) could return to the starting lineup Saturday against San Francisco, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

    According to skipper Dave Roberts, Turner's back is improving, and the team is hopeful to get him some at-bats before the regular season comes to a close. His availability for the rest of the weekend should become more clear closer to first pitch.
