Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Late lineup addition
Carpenter will start at third base and bat seventh Tuesday against the Brewers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
The 34-year-old was originally absent from Tuesday's lineup against southpaw Brett Anderson, but he'll join the starting nine in place of Kolten Wong (undisclosed). Carpenter is 9-for-34 with an .890 OPS through 14 games in September.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: On bench Tuesday
Carpenter is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers.
Carpenter had gone 6-for-12 at the plate over a four-game stretch before going hitless in both halves of Monday's doubleheader. Tommy Edman moves in to third base in his absence, with Rangel Ravelo starting in right field.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Reds' Jesse Winker: Back in action
Winker (back) returns to the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates, batting sixth as the designated hitter.
Winker had been sidelined since leaving Thursday's game against the Cubs with a tight back. His return should be a boost to the Reds' lineup, as he hit a strong .276/.400/.569 with 10 homers in 150 plate appearances prior to the injury.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Returns as expected
Turner (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list as expected Tuesday, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.
The third baseman had been out since late August with a strained hamstring. His .794 OPS in 32 games prior to the injury would be his lowest mark since 2013, though it's still a respectable number. He should fill a near-everyday role upon his return, though the Dodgers can afford to be cautious with the oft-injured veteran with their playoff spot already nearly secured. Josh Sborz was optioned in a corresponding move.

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Expected back Tuesday
Turner (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game in San Diego, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.
It was reported earlier in the day that Turner may be ready for a Tuesday return, and manager Dave Roberts confirmed this report following Monday's contest. Turner has been dealing with a hamstring injury for the last two weeks.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Drills seventh homer
McCutchen went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Marlins.
McCutchen led the game off with a homer off Pablo Lopez, but it wound up being the only blood the Phillies would draw off the right-hander. The long ball was the outfielder's seventh of the season and it also gave him his 29th RBI.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Hopeful for Tuesday return
Turner (hamstring) could be reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Turner has been on the injured list for two weeks to allow him time to fully recover from a left hamstring strain. However, manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Turner could potentially return to action Tuesday as the designated hitter. The 35-year-old had a .384 OBP with 10 extra-base hits and 20 RBI prior to his injury.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Brewers' Daniel Vogelbach: Sitting for afternoon game
Vogelbach will hit the bench for the first half of Monday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Vogelbach sits with lefty Kwang Hyun Kim on the mound for the opener. He'll likely return for the nightcap against righty Daniel Ponce de Leon. Christian Yelich will rest his legs as the designated hitter in the afternoon game, with Tyrone Taylor starting in left field.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Continues surging Sunday
Carpenter went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a double and two runs in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.
Carpenter was the only Cardinal to churn out multiple hits in the five-run loss, with the veteran extending a hot streak at the plate that has seen him produce a trio of two-hit efforts in the last four contests. It's a highly welcome sight for Carpenter's long-suffering fantasy managers, who just saw him finally get his average over the Mendoza Line for the first time since Aug. 27 on Saturday. Carpenter has also shown a penchant for clutch hitting in particular of late, as he now has six RBI over the last six games.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Reds' Jesse Winker: Could be available off bench
Winker will test his tight back in a pre-game workout Monday and could be available off the bench for both halves of the day's doubleheader against the Pirates, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Winker will sit for the fourth straight game in the afternoon contest, and it sounds as though he'll be sitting for the nightcap as well. The fact that he's yet to be placed on the injured list suggests that he could start at some point this week, perhaps quite soon, though a clearer picture of his availability won't come until after he completes his workout.
