  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Racking up RBI

Blackmon went 0-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored Saturday against the Mets.

Blackmon drew a leadoff walk to begin the game and ultimately came around to score. He otherwise had an unremarkable game, though he has six RBI and three runs scored across his last five starts. On the season, Blackmon has maintained a .261/.365/.400 line across 137 plate appearances and has struck out at just a 12.3 percent clip.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Marlins' Jorge Soler: Clubs seventh homer

Soler went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Cubs.

The 31-year-old slugger remains feast or famine at the plate. Soler has gone yard twice in the last three games, but the homers have supplied him with his only RBI in the last 17 contests. On the season, he's produced a .224/.302/.483 slash line with seven home runs, one steal, 14 RBI and 14 runs in 116 plate appearances.

  • Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Out again Saturday

McCutchen (ankle) is not in Saturday's lineup against the Blue Jays.

McCutchen was scratched from Friday's lineup due to a left ankle sprain. Carlos Santana will start at designated hitter while Connor Joe gets the nod at first base. McCutchen is not available off the bench, per Justice delos Santos of MLB.com, as he is still receiving treatment.

  • Mets' Daniel Vogelbach: On bench against lefty

Vogelbach will sit against lefty Austin Gomber and the Rockies on Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Vogelbach has yet to start against a southpaw this season, and given his career .133/.252/.222 slash line against same-sided pitching, that's unlikely to change anytime soon. Pete Alonso will rest his legs as the designated hitter Saturday while Mark Canha starts at first base.

  • J.D. Martinez DH | NYM

Dodgers' J.D. Martinez: Hits in cage Friday

Martinez (back) took swings in a batting cage Friday and is expected to return during next week's series against Milwaukee, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

This was the first time that Martinez has hit in the cage since injuring his back against the Cubs on April 24. The veteran also did some running Friday, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, and the progress has him in line to return against the Brewers during the three-game series that starts Monday. Manager Dave Roberts said that Martinez is unlikely to play Monday, so May 9 appears to be the soonest that the slugger will appear in the lineup.

  • Kyle Lewis DH | ARI

Diamondbacks' Kyle Lewis: Gets at-bats in XST

Lewis (illness) had four at-bats in an extended spring training game earlier this week.

Lewis was placed on the 10-day injured list April 8 with an undisclosed illness. He reportedly is feeling better and working his way back into baseball shape.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Padres' Matt Carpenter: Gets Friday off against Dodgers

Carpenter is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers.

Carpenter will take a seat against Clayton Kershaw for Friday's series opener. Nelson Cruz will be the designated hitter and hit fifth.

  • Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Scratched with ankle sprain

McCutchen was scratched from Friday's lineup due to a left ankle sprain.

The severity of McCutchen's injury is yet to be determined, but it's apparently enough to keep him from Friday's contest against Toronto. Mark Mathias will take over as Pittsburgh's DH and bat eighth.

  • Mark Canha LF | TEX

Mets' Mark Canha: Day off Friday

Canha isn't starting Friday against the Rockies.

After snapping a three-game hit streak Thursday, Canha will get to rest Friday against Colorado. Tommy Pham will take his place in left field and bat seventh.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Marlins' Jorge Soler: Accounts for offense in loss

Soler went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Thursday's 6-3 loss to Atlanta.

Soler tagged Dylan Dodd for a two-run homer in the first inning and an RBI double in the fifth, but that was the extent of Miami's run production. This was Soler's third three-hit effort of the year, but he'd gone just 2-for-33 over nine games since his last such performance. The 31-year-old is batting only .220, but his .765 OPS through 30 contests would be his highest since 2020. He's added six homers, 13 RBI, 12 runs scored and nine doubles this season.
