Miguel Cabrera drives in four in Tigers' win
Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera drove in all four runs in Friday's 4-0 win over Cleveland. Cabrera hit a three-run home run to open the scoring in the sixth inning, then drove in another run in the eighth.
"Unfortunately, the two guys up before Miggy get hits and (starter Salazar) tried to throw him a cutter," Indians manager Terry Francona said of the home run. "It was probably middle-middle and he does with it what he does with mistakes."
Cabrera went 2 for 3 with a double, his 12th, and a walk. He hit his second home run in the last five games, giving him 13 on the year, as well as 43 RBI.

Athletics OF Mark Canha returns to No. 2 spot in lineup
Athletics left fielder Mark Canha is slotted in the second position of the team's starting lineup for Friday's game against the Angels, marking the first time he has been that high in the order since April.
Canha last started in the two-hole on April 24, ending a run where he started 13 of 14 contests in that position in the lineup. Canha has picked up his offense in June, hitting .381 with two homers, two doubles and five RBIs to start the month.

Tigers right fielder J.D. Martinez is only 1-for-9 lifetime with seven strikeouts against Indians starting pitcher Danny Salazar, who takes the mound Friday night.
Martinez will not dig in against him unless he comes into the game late. He is out of the lineup. Tyler Collins will take his place in the field and in the fifth spot in the batting order.

Athletics 1B Mark Canha slugs eighth long-ball of season
Athletics first baseman Mark Canha slammed his eighth home run of the season in his team's 7-0 win over the Rangers on Thursday.
Canha hit a two-run blast off of Rangers reliever Jon Edwards in the eighth inning of the win. He went 2 for 4 with two RBI.
Canha is hitting .247 with eight home runs and 26 RBI in 154 at-bats.

Tigers LF Yoenis Cespedes blasts ninth home run of the year
Tigers left fielder Yoenis Cespedes was the only player on his team that produced during the 12-3 loss to the Cubs on Wednesday.
Cespedes went 1 for 2 with a three-run home run and a walk. The blast came off Cubs starter Jake Arrieta in the sixth inning.
Cespedes is hitting .302 with nine home runs and 33 RBI in 225 at-bats this season.

Mariners' Brad Miller in a funk at the plate
Mariners utility man Brad Miller is doing his best to avoid falling into a slump at the plate. Miller has exactly one hit in each of his last five games. Prior to that, he was held hitless in 10 of 11 games.
Miller hasn't hit a home run since hitting three in two games in the middle of May. Over his current five-game hitting streak, Miller is batting just .263 with six strikeouts and no walks.

Michael Brantley back in left field Tuesday for Indians
A nagging back issue that has plagued Indians left fielder Michael Brantley will not keep him sidelined Tuesday against Seattle. He is playing the field and batting third.
Brantley had been in left in only one of the previous five games. He served as a designated hitter in two others.
The problem has affected him at the plate in recent weeks. Brantley is on a six-game hitting streak, but has just one hit in all of them. He is batting .222 (6-for-27) since May 28 and his average has fallen from .348 to .302 over the last three weeks.

Kennys Vargas in lineup for Twins on Monday
The Twins are wasting no time getting Kennys Vargas back in the lineup after promoting him from Triple-A on Sunday. He is set to start at designated hitter Monday against Kansas City.
Vargas, who will bat fifth, returns with a slash line of .248/.295/.362.

Twins recall Kennys Vargas from Triple-A
The Twins recalled first baseman Kennys Vargas from Triple-A Rochester following Sunday's game, MLB.com reports.
Vargas struggled to a .248/.295/.362 line with three homers and 10 RBI earlier this season before being sent down to Rochester to try and awaken his bat. He has responded nicely, hitting .327/.414/.551 with three home runs and eight RBI in 49 at-bats.
Vargas is taking the roster spot of shortstop Danny Santana, who was sent down to Rochester in a corresponding move.

Athletics left fielder Mark Canha went 3 for 4 in his team's 7-4 loss to the Red Sox on Sunday.
Canha doubled twice and scored two runs in the game.
For the season, Canha is hitting .245 with seven home runs and 24 RBI in 147 at-bats.
