Stanton (knee) is close to facing live pitching, though the Yankees have yet to provide a precise timeline, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Stanton has been out with a knee injury since late June. He's been ramping up his activity lately, advancing to on-field batting practice Tuesday, and still has time to play a part over the final few weeks of the season. The Yankees have reason to be cautious with him given that they hold a 10.5-game lead in their division.

Solak started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Angels.

The Rangers are giving Solak regular work since he was added to the roster. He's appeared in all eight games while with the club, seven of them starts, and is hitting .320 (8-for-25) with three extra-base hits and two RBI.

Alvarez went 3-for-5 with a double, two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI in Tuesday's 15-1 rout of the Rays.

The rookie launched a three-run shot off Andrew Kittredge in the fifth inning, then added a solo shot in the seventh off Michael Brosseau after Tampa had thrown in the towel by using position players on the mound. Alvarez is slashing an eye-popping .329/.420/.703 through his first 60 big-league games with 21 homers and 62 RBI.

Jimenez started in left field and went 1-for-4 in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Twins.

This marked the first time Jimenez was in the outfield following a three-game stretch as the designated hitter while working through a sore hip.

Reyes went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.

Reyes continued his offensive explosion and now has four home runs and 10 RBI in his last three games. The 24-year-old struggled early on after being acquired by the Indians (.466 OPS in 13 games), but since Aug. 11, he is 13-for-48 (.271 average) with two doubles, six homers, nine runs scored and 14 RBI.

Cabrera was removed from Tuesday's game against the Indians with left biceps tightness.

Cabrera struck out in both his at-bats Tuesday and certainly didn't look comfortable at the plate. The Tigers labeled his exited as precautionary, but it's worth noting that it's the same biceps he ruptured in June 2018, which forced him to undergo surgery and miss the rest of the season. According to Evan Woodbery of MLive.com, Cabrera said he felt OK after the game and that the tightness wasn't in the same spot as last year's injury.

Buxton (shoulder) is expected to return at some point this season despite pausing his rehab assignment Tuesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Buxton went to meet up with team doctors after feeling something during batting practice. General manager Thad Levine said, "I wouldn't even call it a setback," though it certainly appears to fit that definition. Buxton will rest and strengthen his shoulder for now, with an updated return timeline potentially coming soon.

Buxton first felt something Sunday and felt it again during batting practice Tuesday. An MRI revealed no structural damage, but his rehab was halted nonetheless, and he'll head to join the big-league club for further evaluation from team doctors. An updated recovery timeline should become available following that evaluation.

Ford went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI to help the Yankees to a 5-4 victory over the Mariners on Monday.

The 27-year-old's contributions were pivotal in the one-run victory, as he swatted his seventh and eighth home runs of the season and wound up driving in three of his team's five runs for the game. Ford is hitting just .227 across 97 big-league at-bats this season, but he's provided solid power in his part-time duty, as the eight long balls leave him with a .505 slugging percentage.

Stanton (knee) took part in agility drills on the field Monday and could take on-field batting practice Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Stanton continues to ramp up his baseball activities, as he was once again able to participate in agility drills, and he's expected to take BP with the team as early as Tuesday. Assuming all goes according to plan, the slugger could head out on a rehab assignment in Tampa over the weekend.
