Diaz went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, a walk, two total runs and three total RBI in Saturday's 16-3 rout of the Astros.
Diaz gave the Rays their first lead with a two-run blast in the third inning and added a run-scoring double to cap the scoring in the ninth. Diaz's three-hit performance was his fifth of the season and his first since May 4. He finished May on a strong note but batted just .224 (22-for-98) during the month, though he added five long balls and 21 RBI over 24 games.

Rice is not in the Yankees' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Saturday.
Aaron Judge will serve as the Yankees' designated hitter while Jasson Dominguez, Trent Grisham and Cody Bellinger start in the outfield. Rice has slashed .230/.293/.446 with three home runs and 10 RBI across 82 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

Polanco snapped a seven-game hitless streak Friday when he went 1-for-5 with a run scored. He'll begin Saturday's game in the dugout while Cal Raleigh serves as the designated hitter and Mitch Garver starts behind home plate.

Blue Jays' Tyler Heineman: Beginning assignment
Heineman (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Heineman landed on the 7-day concussion IL on Sunday after taking multiple foul balls off his catcher's mask, but he seems to be nearing the end of his recovery process. The Blue Jays haven't specified how long they plan to keep the 33-year-old backstop in the minors, though he shouldn't require too many tune-up games.

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Fracture revealed
Alvarez (hand) had imaging done following Friday's batting practice session that revealed a fracture that is 60 percent healed, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports. He will be shut down from hitting until the fracture is fully healed.
Even though the batting practice session appeared to go well, Alvarez felt some discomfort that led to the examination. Morales reported that previously they didn't see the fracture due to the inflammation in Alvarez's hand. He appeared close to making his return from the injured list, but the veteran slugger now seems likely to be sidelined for at least a couple more weeks.

Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Continues to rack up RBI in May
Devers went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a walk in Friday's 5-1 win over Atlanta.
Devers posted a pair of RBI for the second game in a row, and he's now up to 11 multi-hit efforts in May. Over 100 at-bats this month, the 28-year-old designated hitter is batting .370 with seven homers, five doubles and a whopping 33 RBI. Devers also has 22 walks in May, and he's thriving as Boston's full-time DH this season.

Angels' Jorge Soler: Smacks homer in victory
Soler went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, two RBI and a walk in Friday's 4-1 victory over the Angels.
Soler has now had multiple hits in back-to-back games, including his eighth home run of the season Friday. The run production has really picked up in the last week or so for the 33-year-old, who is now up to 23 RBI on the season with seven of them coming in his last eight games.

Despite a ballyhooed batting practice session ahead of Friday's contest, it doesn't appear Alvarez will be activated Friday. Zach Dezenzo is starting at designated hitter and batting eighth.

Alvarez (hand) homered to conclude his live batting practice session ahead of Friday's game against the Rays, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Alvarez is eligible for activation and we're awaiting the Astros lineup for Friday, but multiple Astros beat writers commented about Alvarez's home run to conclude live BP. Rome noted that Mauricio Dubon and Jose Altuve got up as if to say they'd seen enough, following Alvarez's home run, so it's possible he's activated Friday at designated hitter.

Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Out with shoulder inflammation
The Blue Jays placed Santander on the 10-day injured list Friday due to left shoulder inflammation.
The veteran outfielder has gone 0-for-17 with three walks and seven strikeouts in his past five games, and he'll now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. Santander has been playing through hip and shoulder issues for most of May, and it's his shoulder that ended up sending him to the IL. Alan Roden was called up from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move. Santander may get a cortisone shot in the coming days, per Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca.
