Soler left Wednesday's game at Kansas City with oblique irritation and mid-back tightness, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Sitting against southpaw

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Back in action Wednesday
Martinez (hand) is starting Wednesday against Atlanta.
Martinez was hit by a pitch on his left hand during Sunday's contest that forced him to miss two games. However, he'll start in left field and bat fourth Wednesday.

Michael Brantley LF | HOU
Astros' Michael Brantley: Homers, drives in four
Brantley went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk and four RBI in a loss to the Rangers on Tuesday.
Brantley put Houston temporarily ahead with a three-run blast in the seventh inning and brought the team to within a run with a run-scoring single in the 10th. The four RBI were a season high for Brantley, with the long ball marking his first since Opening Day. Still, the veteran has been one of Houston's most effective hitters this season, slashing .299/.379/.494 through 87 plate appearances.

Franmil Reyes DH | WAS
Indians' Franmil Reyes: Collects five hits
Reyes went 5-for-5 with a solo home run, two doubles, one RBI and two runs scored Tuesday against the Royals.
Reyes took Matt Harvey deep in the first inning to record his eighth home run of the season. He continued to showcase his power throughout the game, doubling in both the fifth and seventh innings. Reyes now has three multi-hit performances in his last five starts, during which he's tallied two home runs, five doubles, seven RBI and six runs scored. Overall, he's hitting .323/.378/.569 with 22 runs scored and 25 RBI across 143 plate appearances.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Blue Jays' Daniel Vogelbach: Designated for assignment again
Vogelbach was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
It's the second such move in less than two weeks for Vogelbach, who was designated for assignment and subsequently traded by the Mariners in mid-August. In 20 games between the two sides, he has a total of just five hits. His .088/.246/.211 season slash line is a far cry from the .208/.341/.439 line he posted last season.

Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Returns from shoulder injury
Buxton (shoulder) was activated off the injured list as expected Tuesday and will bat seventh and play center field against the White Sox.
Buxton will wind up missing just shy of two weeks with shoulder inflammation. He'd struggled to a .221/.225/.456 slash line prior to the injury, with that low on-base percentage giving him the opportunity to attempt just two steals in 21 games, but he should nevertheless be the Twins' everyday center fielder going forward.

Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Leading off Tuesday
Choi (illness) will lead off and play first base Tuesday against the Yankees.
A stomach bug forced Choi to leave Monday's game early, but the issue was evidently a minor one, as he's back in the lineup without missing any starts. Choi started the season slowly but has raised his OPS from .662 to .751 over his last four games.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Sits again Tuesday
Martinez (hand) remains on the bench Tuesday against Atlanta, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Martinez's X-rays were negative after he got struck in the hand by a pitch Sunday against the Nationals, but he'll now sit for the second straight game. He's feeling better after some treatment, however, and could return to the lineup Wednesday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports. Yairo Munoz will serve as the designated hitter in his absence.
