Franmil Reyes DH | WAS
Indians' Franmil Reyes: Collects three hits
Reyes went 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run during Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the White Sox.
The 25-year-old was mired in an 0-for-13 slump before sitting out his first game of the season Friday, but he's 5-for-12 with a double, an RBI and a run over the past three games. Reyes has a .273/.317/.545 slash line with four home runs, three doubles, nine RBI, eight runs and 18 strikeouts through 15 games.

Yermin Mercedes DH | SF
White Sox's Yermin Mercedes: Exits early Tuesday
Mercedes left Tuesday's game against Cleveland after fouling a ball off his left foot, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
The 28-year-old went 0-for-2 with a strikeout before being replaced in the field during the fifth inning after fouling a ball off his foot earlier in the contest. Mercedes could take a seat for Wednesday's series finale to provide two full days of rest with a scheduled off day Thursday.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Available off bench Tuesday
Alvarez (COVID-19 injured list) was activated but is not starting Tuesday in Coors Field, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
With the Astros playing in a National League park, Alvarez will only serve as a pinch hitter in his return from the IL. He should resume his designated hitter duties Thursday at home against the Angels.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Likely out through this week
Cabrera (biceps) may be able to take live batting practice by the end of the week, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
He is taking batting practice in the cage Tuesday, and it sounds like Cabrera won't be able to return until early next week at the earliest. In the meantime, Renato Nunez will serve as the primary designated hitter.

Brent Rooker DH | ATH
Twins' Brent Rooker: Activated from IL
Rooker (neck) was activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game in Oakland, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The timing worked out well for Rooker, who had been traveling with the team, as Max Kepler was placed on the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move, so there should be some playing time available in the short term. Alex Kirilloff was not an option to be promoted, as he is at the team's alternate training site in St. Paul and the team didn't want to fly players to the West Coast commercially during the pandemic. Rooker has six strikeouts in 11 at-bats.

Kyle Lewis DH | ARI
Mariners' Kyle Lewis: Hitting second in 2021 debut
Lewis (knee) will start in center field and bat second Tuesday against the Dodgers, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
Ty France has served as the No. 2 hitter in each of Seattle's first 17 games, but since he'll be on the bench Tuesday while he manages a bruised forearm, the Mariners will turn to the freshly activated Lewis to bat out of the two hole. Lewis most frequently batted third in 2020, so he'll presumably slide down a spot in the order when France is cleared to return to action.

Kyle Lewis DH | ARI
Mariners' Kyle Lewis: Activated for season debut
Lewis (knee) was activated from the injured list as expected Tuesday and will make his season debut against the Dodgers.
Lewis has been out with a knee injury since he collided with the outfield wall in late March. He should occupy an everyday role in center field and in the heart of the Mariners' order now that he's ready to go. Braden Bishop was optioned in a corresponding move.

Mike Ford DH | MIN
Yankees' Mike Ford: Joins big-league roster
Ford was recalled by the Yankees on Tuesday.
The Yankees need another first baseman due to Luke Voit's knee injury and Jay Bruce's retirement. Ford has been decent enough in limited action at the highest level, but the fact that the Yankees turned first to Bruce and not to him indicates they don't think too highly of him. He looked good in 50 games in 2019 before struggling significantly in 29 games last year, giving him a career .217/.308/.461 slash line with 14 homers in 79 contests.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Belts sixth homer
Martinez went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored Monday against the White Sox.
Martinez clubbed a solo homer over the fence in left field during the second inning, increasing Boston's lead to six. He would later tack on an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single. The 33-year-old has pieced together a modest four-game hitting streak and is slashing .383/.439/.800 with six home runs and 20 RBI in 15 contests this season.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: To be held around 75 pitches
Ohtani (blister) will be limited to around 75 pitches during Tuesday's start against the Rangers, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
As expected, Ohtani will be somewhat limited in just his second start of the season. Manager Joe Maddon also stated that Ohtani won't be hitting Tuesday, "just in case something went awry early and we had to scramble with a short bench," per Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times.
