Jimenez did not test his injured knee Wednesday.

Jimenez took a foul ball off the knee while in the dugout Tuesday -- "He got smoked," manager Tony La Russa said -- and took it easy Wednesday, suggesting he may sit out Thursday's series finale in Oakland. After the game, the White Sox will travel cross country for a three-game set at home against Boston beginning Friday.

Solak went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-5 win over Arizona.

The 26-year-old is now 3-for-7 across his last two games after going three contests without a hit. Solak had produced an 11-game hitting streak after he rejoined the Rangers' big-league roster. For the year, the infielder is slashing .241/.307/.372 with 11 home runs, six stolen bases, 43 RBI, 52 runs scored and 15 doubles across 437 plate appearances. He'll remain a top option at second base while Andy Ibanez (hamstring) is out.

Cabrera went 4-for-4 with a double, three singles and three RBI in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Pirates.

Cabrera mashed a season-high four hits Wednesday in Pittsburgh, smacking an RBI double in the first before plating two more runs on base hits in the third and fifth innings. With this outburst, the 38-year-old is now 10-for-19 to start September.

Jimenez (knee) is out of the lineup Wednesday against the A's.

X-rays confirmed Jimenez suffered a bruised right knee during Tuesday's win over Oakland, and it's not a major surprise the White Sox will give him at least one game out of the lineup. According to James Fegan of The Athletic, manager Tony La Russa said the 24-year-old is dealing with a significant bone bruise, and the skipper would be "pleasantly surprised" if Jimenez is able to play Thursday. Andrew Vaughn will take over in left field while Gavin Sheets serves as the designated hitter.

Cabrera is in the lineup Wednesday versus the Pirates, manning first base and batting cleanup.

After resting in games Sunday and Monday, Cabrera will close out the series in Pittsburgh with back-to-back starts at first base, as anticipated. The two days off appeared to do Cabrera some good, as he returned to the lineup Tuesday and went 3-for-4 with a double in the Tigers' 3-2 loss.

Rooker isn't starting Wednesday's game against Cleveland.

Rooker went 2-for-7 with a homer, two runs and two strikeouts across the last two games, and he'll get a breather Wednesday. Rob Refsnyder will start in left field and bat seventh.

Choi (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Choi went through a pregame workout Tuesday and apparently checked out well, as he'll return to the active roster ahead of Wednesday's series finale against the Red Sox. Choi missed approximately two weeks due to a left hamstring strain and went 0-for-5 with an RBI, two walks and three strikeouts across two rehab games.

Jimenez had X-rays on his right knee come back negative after exiting Tuesday's game at Oakland, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Jimenez was diagnosed with a knee contusion after being struck by a foul ball early in the contest, and X-rays appear to have confirmed that initial diagnosis. He went 1-for-3 with a run scored prior to his exit, and he should be considered day-to-day heading into the second game of the series Wednesday.

Brantley went 3-for-5 with a double and a run in Tuesday's win versus the Mariners.

The outfielder singled in the first inning and again in the third inning before coming around to score on an Alex Bregman double. He later doubled in the seventh inning for his third hit of the game. It was the 34-year-old's first extra-base hit since Aug. 15 and his first double since Aug. 10. He's batting .316 on the season but hasn't provided much in the slugging department with a .440 SLG, his lowest since 2016.

Rooker went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Tuesday's win over Cleveland.

Rooker took Alex Young deep with a 401-foot shot in the seventh inning. It was the seventh long ball of the year for the 26-year-old, who has struggled to find playing time due his .204/.298/.401 batting line.
