  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Back in left field

Jimenez started in left field and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Angels.

Jimenez made his second consecutive start in left field after he missed time due to a knee injury and then served as the designated hitter upon his return. It looks like the knee is up to the rigors of playing the field.

  • J.D. Martinez DH | NYM

Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Two hits, homer

Martinez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two strikeouts in an 8-4 triumph over the Mariners on Tuesday.

Martinez opened the game's scoring with a fourth-inning long ball to center and brought home a run with a single in the ninth. The homer gives the designated hitter 25 on the season and he's now slashing .275/.356/.475 across 10 September games.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Tallies 28th long ball

Stanton went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Tuesday against the Orioles.

Stanton was one of three Yankees to take Alexander Wells deep; he connected for his 28th homer of the season. He's now homered in two of his last three games and has also tallied at least one hit in six of his last seven starts. On the campaign, Stanton is hitting .272/.360/.497 with 78 RBI and 55 runs scored across 509 plate appearances.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Launches home run

Choi went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's victory over the Blue Jays.

The first baseman took Jose Berrios deep in the second inning and then ripped a double off him in the fourth. It was his 10th home run of the season and first multi-hit game since returning from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

  • Astros' Michael Brantley: Not expected back until Friday

Brantley (knee) isn't expected to return to action until Friday at the earliest, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Brantley sits for his third straight game Tuesday against Texas while he deals with right knee discomfort, and it looks like his streak of absences will stretch to at least five games before he returns to action. The Astros elected not to place him on the injured list, however, which indicates some level of confidence that he'll be back in the next few days. When he eventually returns, he's expected to initially serve as the designated hitter.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

Indians' Harold Ramirez: Sitting Game 2

Ramirez is sitting out the second half of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Twins.

The outfielder started Game 1, collecting two hits and a run. Ramirez now has three multi-hit games in his last seven contests. He will be replaced in left field by Oscar Mercado, who will bat ninth.

  • Luis Torrens DH | NYM

Mariners' Luis Torrens: Takes seat Tuesday

Torrens is not starting Tuesday against Boston.

Torrens will retreat to the bench after being in the starting nine during the previous six games. Jake Bauers is slated to DH and bat eighth Tuesday.

  • Astros' Michael Brantley: Still sidelined

Brantley (knee) remains on the bench for Tuesday's game against Texas, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Brantley has been out since leaving Saturday's game against the Angels with right knee discomfort. He'll sit for the third straight game, with Chas McCormick starting in left field.

  • Zack Collins C | CLE

White Sox's Zack Collins: Recalled by White Sox

Collins was called up by the White Sox on Tuesday.

Collins provides additional catcher depth behind Yasmani Grandal, taking over the backup spot from Seby Zavala, who was optioned in a corresponding transaction. There could also be more at-bats available elsewhere for a bat-first player like Collins with Andrew Vaughn (back) landing on the injured list, but Collins' .202/.324/.331 season slash line suggests he shouldn't be spending much time as a designated hitter.

  • J.D. Martinez DH | NYM

Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Hitless in return

Martinez went 0-for-3 with a walk in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.

Martinez returned to the lineup after missing three games with tightness in his back.
