  • Jose Trevino C | CIN

Yankees' Jose Trevino: Homers in win

Trevino went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Orioles.

Trevino extended the Yankees' lead to 5-3 in the seventh inning with an opposite-field shot off Nick Vespi. It's Trevino's fourth home run of the year and his first since May 1. The 30-year-old backstop had been struggling at the plate, going 4-for-23 (.174) with just one extra-base hit in his previous nine games. On the season, Trevino's now slashing .212/.258/.322 with 15 RBI and 15 runs scored through 156 plate appearances.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

Rangers' Mitch Garver: Drives in four in Boston

Garver went 2-for-2 with two walks, a double, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Red Sox.

While his defensive performance was a little shaky -- he got charged with a passed ball and a catcher's interference call -- Garver's bat supplied most of the fireworks for the Rangers, including a three-run shot off Kaleb Ort in the second inning. The homer was his first in a month, and the 32-year-old slashed a tepid .214/.290/.286 during his 16-game power drought. On the season, Garver's batting .256 with four homers and 17 RBI in 24 contests.

  • David Fry RF | CLE

Guardians' David Fry: Delivers walk-off knock

Fry went 2-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Fry knocked in a run for the third time over his last five games, with this one coming via the walk-off hit in the 10th inning. The 27-year-old is starting to push for more playing time -- he's been in the lineup for three of the last five games. For the season, he's batting .293 with a home run, six RBI, two steals and four runs scored over 44 plate appearances. His versatility allows him to cover multiple positions around the diamond.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Not in lineup Tuesday

Jansen is absent from the lineup Tuesday versus the White Sox.

Alejandro Kirk will start at catcher and Brandon Belt is serving as the Blue Jays' designated hitter. This is the second straight absence for Jansen, who's batting just .206/.250/.353 over his last 36 plate appearances.

  • Cardinals' Andrew Knizner: Evaluated for groin injury

Knizner left Tuesday's game against the Marlins due to a groin injury, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Knizner took a foul ball to the groin and was sent to a local hospital in Miami to be evaluated, which suggests that there is significant concern. Ivan Herrera or Tres Barrera could get the call from Triple-A Memphis if the Cardinals need a new backup catcher.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Sitting out Tuesday

Naylor is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against Atlanta.

Both Naylor brothers are sitting this one out, although Josh's absence is due to a wrist issue. In Bo's case, it looks to be a routine day off while Cam Gallagher catches Shane Bieber.

  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Absent from lineup

Grandal is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Blue Jays.

It looks to be a routine day off for the veteran catcher. Seby Zavala will catch Lucas Giolito while Grandal gets some rest.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Takes dry swings

O'Hoppe (shoulder) took 25 dry swings Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

It's the first time he's swung a bat since he underwent surgery in late April to repair a torn labrum in his left (non-throwing) shoulder. O'Hoppe said afterward that it felt "really good. I didn't feel I needed to baby anything... Taking the training wheels off today." There's a chance he could return before the end of the season, with late August being a best-case scenario. O'Hoppe has plenty of hoops to jump through, though, and where the Angels are in the playoff hunt at the time could also factor into their plans for the young catcher.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: On bench Tuesday

Moreno is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Mets.

Carson Kelly will catch and bat seventh versus the Mets and right-hander Max Scherzer. It's the second straight absence for Moreno, who has posted a disappointing .657 OPS with two home runs through 64 games this year.

  • Carlos Perez C | HOU

Athletics' Carlos Perez: Goes down with fractured thumb

Perez was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured left thumb.

It's unclear how or when Perez suffered the injury, but clearly he's going to be on the shelf for a while. Manny Pina (wrist) is back from an injury himself to take Perez's roster spot.
