Fermin will start at catcher and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Twins.

With the Royals frequently deploying Salvador Perez at designated hitter of late and even handing him a start at first base Friday for the first time since 2020, Fermin has benefited with an uptick in opportunities behind the plate. The 28-year-old will pick up his third start at catcher in four games Sunday, and he's done his part thus far to justify the increased work. He'll take a five-game hitting streak into Sunday's contest and owns an .830 OPS over 134 plate appearances on the season.

Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Contreras has a .947 OPS in 11 games since the All-Star break and will take a seat for Sunday's series finale versus Chicago. Andrew Knizner will step in behind the plate to catch for Steven Matz.

Soderstrom went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a walk and a run in a win over the Rockies on Saturday.

Bethancourt is just 3-for-24 since the All-Star break and will take a seat Sunday for the second time in Tampa Bay's last three games. Rene Pinto will take over behind the plate to catch for opener Zack Littell.

Grandal has a .250/.318/.425 slash line since the All-Star break and will sit Sunday for the second time in Chicago's past three games. Seby Zavala will receive another start behind the plate and bat ninth.

Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

After starting behind the dish the last two days and smacking his 20th home run of the season in Saturday's 11-6 loss, Alvarez will get a breather in the series finale. Omar Narvaez will check into the lineup Sunday as the Mets' starting catcher.

Realmuto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh.

Realmuto started the past four games and will receive a breather after going 3-for-15 with a double, two walks, two RBI and two runs during that stretch. Garrett Stubbs will step in behind the plate to catch for Cristopher Sanchez.

Rodriguez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Rodriguez posted an impressive four-RBI game Saturday, highlighted by a bases-clearing triple in the fifth inning. After a slow start in the majors, he has at least one hit in eight of his last nine games. However, he'll get a day of rest behind the dish with Austin Hedges taking over and hitting ninth.
