Amaya is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Milwaukee.

Amaya caught the last two games and six of the previous eight contests, but he'll receive some rest Wednesday. Yan Gomes will be behind the plate for the Cubs.

Rutschman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Rutschman often starts at designated hitter on days he doesn't catch, but he'll be given a true day off Wednesday, barring a pinch-hitting appearance. It's just the fourth day off this season for the 26-year-old. James McCann will pick up the start at catcher.

Murphy is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Nationals.

Murphy started the first two games of the series against the Nationals in his return from the injured list, going 2-for-7 with an RBI. He will give way to Travis d'Arnaud behind the plate on Wednesday.

Rogers is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Pirates, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Rogers will take a seat for the second game of the day after he was behind the plate for all nine innings of the Tigers' 8-0 win earlier in the day. He went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and an RBI and has now reached base at least once in each of his last five starts. Carson Kelly will draw the start for the second game of the day, but Rogers has performed well enough of late to at the very least keep himself in a timeshare at catcher.

Grandal is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Tigers.

Grandal caught Jared Jones in the Pirates' 8-0 loss in the opening game of the day and went 1-for-3 with a single. He will yield the catching duties in the second game to Grant Koch, who will be making his first MLB start.

Langeliers went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a win over the Rays on Tuesday.

The power-hitting backstop showed off his wheels Tuesday, recording his second steal on three attempts this season following an eighth-inning, two-out walk. Langeliers' .210 average and .280 on-base percentage on the season have plenty of room for improvement, but he carries an exponentially better .277/.365/.631 slash line that's partly constituted of 11 extra-base hits (four doubles, two triples, five home runs) and has recorded 14 RBI across his last 19 games.

Bailey is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Bailey will be getting some routine maintenance in the series finale after he had started at catcher or designated hitter in each of the Giants' last five games. Curt Casali will fill in for Bailey behind the plate.

Realmuto is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Realmuto will get a breather for the afternoon game after he started behind the plate each of the previous three days while going 3-for-13 with eight strikeouts. He recorded exactly one hit in each of those contests to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. Unless he's deployed off the bench Wednesday, Realmuto will look to extend the streak to 18 when he likely returns to the lineup for Friday's series opener versus the Cardinals.

Smith went 1-for-9 with a solo home run in Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Mets.

Smith caught all 10 innings during Game 1 of the twin bill, then remained in the lineup as the Dodgers' DH in Game 2. He produced one of the team's three runs in the nightcap with a solo homer to left field. Smith's use as the designated hitter after catching in Game 1 highlights how valuable his bat is to the team, though his opportunities to fill the DH role have been more limited this season with Shohei Ohtani in the fold.

Stephenson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Stephenson will take a seat for the day game after he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout while catching all nine innings of Tuesday's 7-1 loss to St. Louis. Luke Maile gets the starting nod behind the dish in the series finale.
