The Rays acquired Gonzalez, right-hander Dylan Lesko and outfielder Homer Bush from the Padres on Sunday in exchange for right-hander Jason Adam, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
The 18-year-old catcher was selected 96th overall by San Diego during the 2023 First-Year Player Draft and has played his first professional ball this season. Gonzalez has struggled at the Single-A level with a .205/.322/.230 slash line and 27.6 percent strikeout rate, but he still has plenty of upside given his age.

Langeliers went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's win over the Angels.
Langeliers jumped on the first pitch he saw from Tyler Anderson in the opening frame and launched it over the wall in center field, scoring Brent Rooker and Lawrence Butler to give Oakland a 3-0 lead. That would end up being the difference in the ballgame as both offenses struggled to get much of anything going throughout the contest. Langeliers has now hit safely in four straight games, racking up two homers, two doubles, four RBI and four runs over that stretch. For the month, he's batting .254 with five long balls, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored.

Serven has played in eight major-league games this season and has gone 1-for-11 with one walk, one run scored and four strikeouts. He is available for Sunday's series finale against the Rangers.
