Davis went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI on Tuesday against the Mets.

Davis has drawn consecutive starts for the first time since mid-April, with Joey Bart serving as designated hitter in the absence of Oneil Cruz (back). It may be unfair to judge Davis based on his sporadic playing time, but his ugly performance in the majors has continued in 2025 as he is hitting only .135/.220/.216 across 42 plate appearances. The lone positive is that he's striking out just 16.7 percent of the time, nearly half of his 29.2 percent rate in 415 big-league plate appearances.

Quero (hamstring), per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, "played his first minor-league game of the season Monday... for Milwaukee's Arizona Complex League club."

A hamstring injury delayed Quero's start to the season, but he seems to be nearing a full recovery. The 22-year-old missed nearly all of last season with a shoulder injury, but he remains both one of Milwaukee's top prospects and one of the better catching prospects league-wide.

Diaz isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

Diaz will give way to Martin Maldonado behind the dish after the former went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the series opener Monday.

Kirk (head) is not in the Blue Jays' starting lineup against the Rays on Tuesday.

Kirk was removed from Sunday's game against the Mariners after suffering a blow to the helmet on a Julio Rodriguez backswing. Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters that Kirk "passed every concussion test" and will likely be available off the bench for Tuesday's contest, per Mitch Bannon of The Athletic. With Kirk on the bench, Tyler Heineman will start behind home plate and bat eighth.

The Rangers activated Higashioka (intercostal) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Higashioka has been out for all of May with a mild left intercostal strain but is ready to go after playing in two rehab games. Tucker Barnhart remains on the roster, so the Rangers will carry three catchers for the time being.

The Cubs selected Ballesteros' contract from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.

Ballesteros earned the promotion after batting .368 with four home runs, 18 RBI and three stolen bases over 34 games at Iowa. The 21-year-old will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game and could serve as the Cubs' primary designated hitter while Ian Happ (oblique) is out, with Seiya Suzuki covering left field.

Rogers (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Rogers has been shelved for more than a month with a left oblique strain, but he's been upping his workouts lately and is ready to try things out in games. The veteran catcher should be ready to rejoin the Tigers' active roster within the next week or so.

Murphy is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Murphy started at catcher in the series opener Monday but will get a breather in this one. Drake Baldwin is behind the plate and batting fifth for Atlanta.

McCann signed a contract Friday with Mexican League club Piratas de Campeche.

The 27-year-old McCann spent all of last season in the big leagues as the Athletics' No. 2 catcher, slashing .236/.318/.371 with five home runs, 15 RBI and 13 runs over 157 plate appearances. McCann was dropped from the Athletics' 40-man roster in February, but he stuck around with the organization for spring training and received the chance to compete for the backup catching job. After Jhonny Pereda emerged as the victor in the job battle, McCann was released shortly before the start of the season, but he's finally settled on a new home about a month and a half after hitting the open market. A strong showing in Mexico could serve as a springboard for McCann to potentially catch on with an MLB club later on this season or in 2026.

Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees.

Raleigh had gone 5-for-21 (.238) with one double and two RBI, as well as a 9:7 BB:K, over eight games since his two-homer effort versus the Rangers on May 2. The catcher delivered a two-run blast in the eighth inning Monday to cut the deficit to three runs, but the Yankees answered with a three-run ninth. Raleigh sits second in the American League with 13 long balls while adding 27 RBI, 27 runs scored, seven doubles, four stolen bases and a .241/.368/.559 slash line over 40 games.
