Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Alvarez will receive a breather while the Mets close out their series versus the Cubs with a day game after a night game. Luis Torrens will replace Alvarez behind the dish, forming a battery with starting pitcher Griffin Canning.

Bart went 4-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to Atlanta.

All four knocks were singles, but it was still an impressive way for the backstop to snap a 2-for-20 beginning to the month of May. Bart has been handling a hefty workload so far this season, in part due to the absence of Endy Rodriguez (finger), and through 98 plate appearances he's slashing .286/.412/.378 with one homer, seven runs and eight RBI. If Bart can find a way to pair last year's power display with his newfound patience, he could be headed for a big summer.

Caratini went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 13-9 loss to the Reds.

Caratini finished off the Astros' six-run third inning with a two-run homer off Brady Singer. It was Caratini's second home run of the season, both of which have come over his last five starts. He is slashing .255/.356/.431 with nine runs scored, two home runs and four RBI this season.

Kirk went 4-for-5 in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

Kirk is swinging a hot bat, as he's gone 18-for-46 (.391) over his last 11 games. The catcher had four singles Saturday and has just two extra-base hits over that hot stretch, but he's also logged seven RBI in that span. His big game lifted his batting average for the season from .259 to .282, which is accompanied by a .668 OPS, two home runs, 13 RBI, five runs scored and three doubles through 30 contests.

Langeliers went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and five RBI in Saturday's 11-7 win over the Yankees.

Getting a break from catching duties in the DH spot, the big blow off the bat of Langeliers was a three-run homer in the seventh inning. The 27-year-old tied his season high in hits while setting a new high in RBI, and through 34 games in 2025, Langeliers is slashing .248/.308/.473 with eight home runs, 17 runs and 22 RBI.

Narvaez went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 10-1 win over Kansas City.

Narvaez crossed home plate in the fifth frame on a Rafael Devers RBI single, and the former extended Boston's lead to eight runs in the eighth with a two-run blast off Angel Zerpa. While Connor Wong's return from the injured list has led to less playing time for Narvaez, the 26-year-old has done well at the plate as of late. Over his last eight starts, Narvaez has gone 10-for-29 (.344) with five runs scored, two home runs and seven RBI.

Higashioka (ribs) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Higashioka has been sidelined since May 1 due to an intercostal strain. He won't return after the minimum 10 days as originally anticipated, but he should be back with the Rangers after a few games in the minors.

Smith isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Smith is 1-for-11 with four strikeouts in his career against Arizona starter Corbin Burnes. The 30-year-old backstop will step out of the lineup Saturday while Austin Barnes starts behind the dish and bats ninth.

Wong is not in Boston's lineup Saturday against the Royals.

Wong is sitting for the second time in Boston's last three games, though he should return Sunday for the series finale against Kansas City. Carlos Narvaez will take over behind the plate and hit eighth.

Dingler is not in Detroit's lineup Saturday against the Rangers.

Dingler has started games on three straight days and will give way to Tomas Nido on Saturday. Dingler has maintained his strong performance to begin the season, hitting .316 with five RBI and five runs scored across his last 10 games.
