Jhonny Pereda C | SEA
Mariners' Jhonny Pereda: Recalled from Triple-A
The Mariners recalled Pereda from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
The Mariners have released Mitch Garver and will carry Pereda as their backup catcher behind Cal Raleigh. Pereda has slashed .270/.324/.365 with two homers in 63 plate appearances with Seattle this season.

Agustin Ramirez C | MIA
Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Returning to big leagues
The Marlins will recall Ramirez from Triple-A Jacksonville prior to Tuesday's contest in Atlanta, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Ramirez was sent down to Jacksonville in early May after slashing only .230/.318/.345 with two home runs in his first 31 contests. He's been better at Jacksonville, though a .254/.332/.427 batting line wasn't exactly forcing the Marlins' hand. Ramirez has not played a position other than catcher this season, and with Joe Mack slated to continue serving as the Marlins' primary backstop, it's unclear how much playing time Ramirez will receive.

Leonardo Bernal C | STL
Cardinals' Leo Bernal: Hot bat at Triple-A Memphis
Bernal is slashing .288/.360/.569 with nine home runs, 12 doubles and 42 RBI in 38 games since the start of June.
Bernal has already set a new career high this season with 14 home runs, and he's sporting a 118 wRC+, 11.6 percent walk rate and 19.6 percent strikeout rate. The Cardinals didn't wind up trading any catchers at the deadline, which could make it difficult for Bernal to crack the big-league roster before the end of this season; however, the switch-hitting 22-year-old looks ready for an opportunity when called upon.

Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Goes yard in Monday's win
Kirk went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-1 victory over the Astros.
Kirk opened the scoring with a solo shot over the left-field wall in the second inning. The catcher is in the midst of a 10-game on-base streak, during which he has clubbed two homers and driven in six runs. The 27-year-old is slowly trending in the right direction amid an injury-affected and otherwise lackluster campaign. Kirk is slashing .237/.318/.359 with four homers, 15 RBI and 10 runs across 39 contests.

Chuckie Robinson C | LAD
Dodgers' Chuckie Robinson: Back with big club
The Dodgers selected Robinson's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.
Robinson was able to join the Dodgers ahead of Monday's series opener in Chicago, providing the team with a second option at catcher behind Eliezer Alfonzo after Dalton Rushing (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list. The Dodgers likely won't have a spot available for Robinson for long, however, as Hunter Feduccia was acquired from the Rays on Monday and could bump Robinson off the roster if he's able to arrive at Wrigley Field in time for Tuesday's contest.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Out Monday, set for paternity leave
Moreno was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game against the Padres to attend the birth of his second child, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
James McCann will enter the lineup at catcher and as the Diamondbacks' No. 8 hitter in place of Moreno, who has been running hot at the plate since the All-Star break with a .286/.360/.444 batting line, two home runs, 15 RBI and 12 runs in 16 games. Moreno could go on the paternity list Tuesday, which would allow him to remain away from the team for between one and three days to spend time with his growing family.
-
Miguel Amaya C | CHC
Cubs' Miguel Amaya: Splitting time with Carson Kelly
Amaya is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.
Carson Kelly will draw the start behind the plate Monday, but he and Amaya appear to have settled into a pattern of alternating turns at catcher. Amaya had started in five of the previous 10 games, going 5-for-17 with a double, three RBI and two runs.
-
Drew Cavanaugh C | SF
Giants' Drew Cavanaugh: Ceding start to Susac
Cavanaugh is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.
Cavanaugh will take a seat while Daniel Susac receives a turn behind the plate in the series opener. Since the All-Star break, Cavanaugh has started in seven of the Giants' 17 contests and has slashed .250/.400/.250 with two runs and two RBI.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Back from 60-day injured list
Atlanta activated Murphy (finger) from the 60-day injured list Monday.
Murphy has rejoined the big club after a fractured left middle finger kept him shelved since mid-May. He's been limited to only four games this season due to injury but was cleared to return after slashing .381/.417/.429 in six rehab contests. Murphy will serve as the No. 2 catcher in Atlanta behind Drake Baldwin and should see some occasional starts in the designated-hitter spot when Baldwin is behind the plate.
