Willson Contreras 1B | BOS
Cubs' Willson Contreras: Returns to lineup Sunday
Contreras is starting at catcher and batting fifth in Sunday's game against the Reds.
Contreras got days off both Friday and Saturday, but he had started 14 straight games before that, so a little extended rest was well-earned by the backstop. Contreras is slashing a strong .315/.424/.596 with 11 home runs and 31 RBI through 46 games this season.

James McCann C | ARI
White Sox's James McCann: Benched Sunday
McCann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Though McCann maintains an impressive .322 average on the season, he's cooled down of late with a 3-for-26 showing at the plate over his past eight games. He'll rest in the series finale in favor of Seby Zavala, who was promoted from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday to replace the concussed Welington Castillo as the White Sox's backup catcher.
-
Austin Hedges C | CLE
Padres' Austin Hedges: Day off Sunday
Hedges is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Hedges will head to the bench after starting the last five games and going 7-for-19 with two homers and six RBI in that span. Austin Allen will start behind the dish and bat eighth in Sunday's series finale.

Max Stassi C | SF
Astros' Max Stassi: Lands on IL
The Astros placed Stassi (knee) on the 10-day injured list Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Houston will shut Stassi down for at least the next week and a half after he left Saturday's game against the Red Sox early due to left knee soreness. Garrett Stubbs was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move and will serve as the understudy to top catcher Robinson Chirinos.
-
Roberto Perez C | BOS
Indians' Roberto Perez: Sitting Sunday
Perez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
Perez was diagnosed with a concussion earlier in the week but didn't require a trip to the injured list and missed only two games before returning to action Friday. He was behind the plate again in Saturday's 6-2 loss and will just be receiving a routine breather in the series finale. Kevin Plawecki checks into the starting lineup at catcher in Perez's stead.

Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Rays' Travis d'Arnaud: Resting Sunday
D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Indians, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
D'Arnaud will hit the bench after starting the past two games at catcher and going 2-for-8 with four strikeouts. Erik Kratz will step in behind the dish and bat eighth in the series finale.
-
Garrett Stubbs C | PHI
Astros' Garrett Stubbs: Gets call to Houston
The Astros will recall Stubbs from Triple-A Round Rock ahead of Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The organization's top catching prospect, Stubbs gets his first call to the big leagues after fellow backstop Max Stassi suffered a left knee injury in Saturday's game. It's unclear if Stassi's setback is serious enough to warrant a trip to the injured list, but Stubbs should at least serve as the No. 2 catcher behind Robinson Chirinos while Stassi is day-to-day.

Elias Diaz C | TEX
Pirates' Elias Diaz: Continues hot hitting Saturday
Diaz went 1-for-3 with a double against the Dodgers on Saturday.
He figures to see the bulk of playing time behind the plate for as long as starter Francisco Cervelli misses time with a concussion. Diaz is hitting .387 in his last 31 at-bats after shaking off a slow start. The catcher hit .286 with 10 homers and 34 RBI in 82 games for the Pirates in 2018.

Mitch Garver C | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: Catching bullpen sessions
Garver (ankle) caught a bullpen session Saturday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Garver has been hitting in the cage over the last few days and has been running in straight lines, though he has yet to be cleared to run the bases due to the ankle sprain. The 28-year-old appears to be progressing nicely toward his return, though it remains unclear whether he will require a brief rehab assignment.
