Garver (knee) isn't starting Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Angels.

Garver will be out of the lineup for a third consecutive game, and it's not yet clear whether he could be available for the second game of the twin bill. Willians Astudillo will start behind the plate and bat sixth.

Gomes isn't starting Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Gomes went 1-for-11 with a double, two runs and a strikeout across the last three games. Alex Avila will start at catcher and bat sixth.

Trevino isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Trevino went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees and will take a seat for the second time in the last three games. Jonah Heim will start behind the dish and bat ninth.

Barnhart is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants.

Barnhart had started the last three games behind the dish, so he'll just be getting some maintenance Thursday as the Giants and Reds wrap up their series with a day game. Tyler Stephenson gets nod at catcher Thursday, working in a battery with Tyler Mahle while batting third.

Vazquez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 win over Toronto.

The catcher produced an RBI with a groundout in the first inning. He also added a solo shot in the eighth. Vazquez is slashing .252/.301/.363 with three homers, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored and four stolen bases through 146 plate appearances this year. He's trimmed his strikeout rate to 17.8 percent this year compared to 22.8 percent last year, but it hasn't led to any extra success at the plate.

Smith is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Smith is 4-for-8 with a homer, a double, two RBI and three runs through the first two games of the series, but he'll take a seat Wednesday. Austin Barnes will catch for Clayton Kershaw and bat eighth.

Jansen is not starting Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Jansen receives a day off after consecutive games in which he went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. The catcher will be available off the bench while Reese McGuire starts behind the dish Wednesday.

Stallings (quadriceps) isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Stallings will be out of the lineup for a second straight game after he suffered a left quadriceps bruise Sunday. Michael Perez will start behind the dish and bat eighth.

Stephenson is starting at first base and batting cleanup in Wednesday's game against the Giants. He doesn't have a first-base mitt of his own and has to borrow one from teammate Mike Moustakas, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

With Joey Votto out and Moustakas available for pinch-hit duty only, the Reds have had to get creative with their lineups. Kyle Farmer has been starting at first the majority of the time, but Stephenson brings a bit more power upside to the table.

Realmuto is dealing with a bone bruise on his left hand, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Realmuto is out of the lineup for a third consecutive game Wednesday against the Marlins, and manager Joe Girardi isn't yet sure whether the catcher will be available off the bench. Andrew Knapp is starting behind the plate and batting sixth.
