  • Jose Godoy C | TEX

Mariners' Jose Godoy: Contract selected by Mariners

Godoy had his contract selected by the Mariners on Thursday.

The Mariners made a flurry of roster moves at catcher, as Luis Torrens was sent to Triple-A Tacoma and Jacob Nottingham was claimed off waivers. Godoy will replace Torrens in Seattle and is set to make his major-league debut. Across 119 plate appearances at the highest level of the minors, Godoy has hit .315/.370/.481 -- though that production came in a hitter-friendly environment.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

    Twins' Mitch Garver: Starting nightcap

Garver (knee) is starting Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Angels.

Garver missed the last three games due to a right knee contusion, but he'll be back in action for the second half of the twin bill. Garver will start behind the plate and bat seventh.

  • Pirates' Jacob Stallings: Back in lineup

Stallings (quadriceps) is starting Thursday's game against Atlanta, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Stallings had missed the last two games due to a bruised left quadriceps, but he'll start behind the plate and bat fourth Thursday. Stallings went 5-for-13 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs across his last four games.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Remains out of lineup

Realmuto (hand) isn't starting Thursday's game against the Marlins.

Realmuto has been dealing with a bone bruise on his left hand, and he'll be out of the lineup for a fourth consecutive game. Andrew Knapp will start behind the plate and bat seventh.

  • Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Back in action

Alvarez (lower body) will catch and bat third for Low-A St. Lucie in Thursday's game against the Palm Beach.

Alvarez limped off the field in a May 12 game against Daytona after a collision at the plate, but the injury only proved to be a minor concern for the Mets' top catching prospect. He returned to action three days later, and he's now 3-for-11 in his first three games back in the lineup. Perhaps in a preview of what could become a regular battery down the road, the 20-year-old Alvarez will be catching rehabbing Mets ace Jacob deGrom (side) on Thursday.

  • Sandy Leon C | ATL

Marlins' Sandy Leon: Retreats to bench Thursday

Leon isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Leon had started each of the last two games and went 1-for-8 with five strikeouts during that time. Chad Wallach will start behind the plate and bat seventh.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Day off Thursday

Contreras will sit Thursday against the Nationals.

Contreras has handled a very heavy workload behind the plate this season but will sit for the day game after playing Wednesday evening. P.J. Higgins will catch Trevor Williams in his absence.

  • Gary Sanchez C | MIL

Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Returns to lineup

Sanchez (hamstring) is starting Thursday's game against the Rangers.

Sanchez left Tuesday's game against the Rangers with left hamstring cramps and didn't play Wednesday. However, he'll start behind the dish and bat sixth in Thursday's series finale against Texas.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

Twins' Mitch Garver: Not starting Game 1

Garver (knee) isn't starting Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Angels.

Garver will be out of the lineup for a third consecutive game, and it's not yet clear whether he could be available for the second game of the twin bill. Willians Astudillo will start behind the plate and bat sixth.

  • Yan Gomes C | CHC

Nationals' Yan Gomes: Riding pine Thursday

Gomes isn't starting Thursday's game against the Cubs.
