  • Austin Nola C | COL

Padres' Austin Nola: Thursday activation expected

The Padres are expected to reinstate Nola (knee) from the 10-day injured list Thursday, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

A left knee sprain has sidelined the 31-year-old since May 24, but he's set to finally make his return to start the four-game series in Miami. Once Nola is activated, backup catcher Webster Rivas will almost certainly be sent down.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Nursing tight hamstring

Jansen's exit from Wednesday's game against the Red Sox was due to right hamstring tightness, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said the team will reevaluate Jansen, who recently spent time on the injured list with a strain to the same hamstring, on Thursday. The skipper also suggested the possibility of Alejandro Kirk joining the Blue Jays if Jansen faces a considerable absence.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Exits with injury

Jansen was removed from Wednesday's game against the Red Sox after suffering an apparent leg injury, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

The 26-year-old limped his way to second base on a seventh-inning double and was replaced by Reese McGuire. It's unclear what Jansen injured, but details about his condition should come out following the game, if not sooner.

  • Blue Jays' Reese McGuire: On bench Wednesday

McGuire is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Red Sox.

McGuire was scheduled for a day off Tuesday before the contest was postponed, and manager Charlie Montoyo will stick with the same order Wednesday. Danny Jansen will work behind the plate and bat ninth for Toronto.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

    Twins' Mitch Garver: Resting Wednesday

Garver is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Manager Rocco Baldelli will extend Garver some maintenance for the series finale after the backstop made his return from groin surgery earlier in the week to make back-to-back starts at catcher. Ryan Jeffers will get the nod behind the plate Wednesday, but Garver should serve as Minnesota's clear No. 1 catcher now that he's back from the injured list.

  • Eric Haase C | CHW

    Tigers' Eric Haase: Idle Wednesday

Haase is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

After catching the past two games following Jake Rogers' (arm) placement on the 10-day injured list, Haase will get a breather for the series finale. Grayson Greiner checks in behind the plate, forming a battery with starting pitcher Matt Manning.

  • Jonah Heim C | ATH

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Gets breather Wednesday

Heim isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Heim drew starts in each of the last three games and went 1-for-8 with two strikeouts during that time. John Hicks will start behind the plate and bat fifth.

  • Pirates' Jacob Stallings: Back in play

Stallings is starting and batting fifth Wednesday afternoon against Arizona.

The backstop, who sat out Tuesday's game, is hitting .375 with three homers and eight RBI in his last 24 at-bats. Stallings has faced Wednesday starter Madison Bumgarner only three times, collecting two hits (including a home run).

  • Elias Diaz C | TEX

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Out of lineup Wednesday

Diaz isn't starting Wednesday's game against Seattle.

Diaz started each of the last two games and went 2-for-8. Dom Nunez will take over at catcher and bat eighth.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: On bench Wednesday

Raleigh isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Raleigh went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, a run and a walk in Tuesday's win over Colorado, but he'll retreat to the bench for the second time in the last three games. Tom Murphy will start at catcher and bat sixth.
