  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Activated off minor-league IL

Quero (shoulder) was activated off the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Quero was not even two weeks into a projected 3-to-4 week absence with a mild left shoulder sprain, so he appears to have recovered much faster than anticipated. The 22-year-old has slashed .259/.333/.362 with two home runs in 30 games with Nashville this year.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Braves' Sean Murphy: Riding pine Thursday

Murphy isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Miami.

Murphy will get a day to regroup Thursday after going 1-for-17 to begin the month of August. Drake Baldwin will get the starting nod at catcher while Murphy sits, and Marcell Ozuna will serve as Atlanta's designated hitter.

  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Day off Thursday

Stephenson is not in the lineup for Thursday's tilt in Pittsburgh.

It appears to be a routine day off for Stephenson, who had started five of the previous seven contests. Jose Trevino will do the catching and bat eighth in Thursday's series opener.

  • Kyle Teel C | CHW

White Sox's Kyle Teel: Out of Thursday's lineup

Teel is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Seattle.

Teel will get a breather after starting each of the last four games (three at catcher, one at designated hitter). Edgar Quero will handle the catching and will bat seventh for the White Sox in Thursday's matinee.

  • Riley Adams C | WAS

Nationals' Riley Adams: Goes yard in narrow win

Adams went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Athletics.

Adams launched homer No. 7 on the campaign Wednesday. As long as Keibert Ruiz (concussion) remains on the injured list, the 29-year-old Adams has a much clearer pathway to fantasy relevance and is worth a look in deeper leagues for those in need of help at catcher. Over his last 12 games (40 plate appearances), Adams is slashing .250/.325/.556 with three round trippers, two doubles and six RBI.

  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Sitting with lefty on mound

Baldwin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

With southpaw Jose Quintana taking the hill for Milwaukee, the left-handed-hitting Baldwin will head to the bench for the series finale. Sean Murphy will get the nod behind the dish and Marcell Ozuna will crack the lineup as Atlanta's designated hitter.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Battling knee soreness

Narvaez is absent from Wednesday's lineup versus the Royals due to knee soreness, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Narvaez looked gimpy while running out a grounder in Tuesday's 6-2 win, although he wasn't forced out of the contest. He was still sporting a limp prior to Wednesday's game, but the hope is he will be ready to play Friday in San Diego, per Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald. Connor Wong will be behind the dish for the Red Sox on Wednesday.

  • Drew Millas C | WAS

Nationals' Drew Millas: Sitting after two straight starts

Millas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Riley Adams will get the nod behind the plate Wednesday, but Millas may have made a case for turning the Nationals' catcher spot into more of a timeshare until Keibert Ruiz (concussion) returns from the injured list. Millas started behind the plate in both of the previous two games and went a collective 4-for-8 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs. He now owns a .367 average and .467 slugging percentage over 33 plate appearances in the majors this season.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Out again amid slump

Narvaez is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Royals.

Narvaez started Tuesday's game, but this will be the third time over the last four contests that he's been absent from the lineup. He's been in a rut at the dish, going 1-for-23 over his last six contests. Connor Wong will fill in at catcher Wednesday.

  • Yohel Pozo C | STL

Cardinals' Yohel Pozo: Getting rest Wednesday

Pozo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Pozo will take a seat for the day game after he went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored while catching all eight innings of the Cardinals' 12-6 loss Tuesday night. Pedro Pages will handle catching duties Wednesday, and he and Pozo have now alternated starts behind the plate over the last six contests.
