Sanchez (abdomen) isn't starting Thursday against the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Manager Rocco Baldelli was hopeful Sanchez would be back in action Thursday, but the catcher is still feeling some slight discomfort in his abdomen. He remains day-to-day, while Ryan Jeffers will start behind the plate and bat seventh.

Murphy isn't starting Thursday against the Rays.

Murphy should see an uptick in playing time behind the dish after Cal Raleigh was sent down Thursday, but he'll get a day off in the series finale against Tampa Bay. Luis Torrens will start at catcher and bat ninth.

Ruiz will sit Thursday against Miami, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Ruiz has handled a heavy workload behind the plate this season, as his 15 starts rank second among all catchers, trailing only J.T. Realmuto. He's made a ton of contact this season, striking out in just 9.5 percent of his plate appearances, though his overall .267/.286/.333 slash line is unimpressive. Riley Adams will take over behind the plate.

Trevino is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles.

After starting behind the dish in four of the Yankees' last six games, Trevino will cede catching duties to Kyle Higashioka in the series finale. Trevino has supplied a modest .559 OPS on the season, but that's still good enough to give him the edge in playing time over Higashioka, who enters Thursday's game with a .293 OPS.

Bemboom will start at catcher and bat eighth in Thursday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

No. 1 backstop Robinson Chirinos started behind the plate in the previous three games, but he'll get Thursday off in what amounts to a routine maintenance day. Chirinos' absence paves the way for Bemboom to enter the lineup for the seventh time this season. The 32-year-old has gone 3-for-20 with a double and three walks on the campaign.

Diaz isn't starting Thursday against Philadelphia.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and a strikeout in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies, but he'll be out of the lineup for the second time in the last three games Thursday. Dom Nunez will start behind the dish and bat ninth.

Perez is now set to start at catcher and hit ninth in Thursday's game against the Brewers, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Perez was scheduled to receive a breather for the day game after the night game, but he was pressed into action on short notice after Andrew Knapp was scratched from Thursday's lineup due to an illness. Assuming Knapp is feeling better Friday, Perez could get a day off in the Pirates' series opener with the Padres.

Perez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers.

Perez will get a breather for the matinee contest after he started behind the plate in Wednesday night's 3-1 loss, in addition to starting the two previous games. No. 2 backstop Andrew Knapp will step in as the Pirates' catcher, forming a battery with starting pitcher Jose Quintana.

Narvaez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

With a lefty (Jose Quintana) on the hill for Pittsburgh and the two teams getting together for a day game after a night game, the lefty-hitting Narvaez's absence from the lineup comes as little surprise. Narvaez started behind the dish in Wednesday's 3-1 win, going 0-for-2 with a pair of walks. Alex Jackson will make his first start of the season Thursday while Narvaez rests.

The Mariners optioned Raleigh to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

Though Raleigh received the start behind the dish Opening Day, he's essentially been part of a three-way timeshare at catcher with Tom Murphy and Luis Torrens throughout the season. He didn't make consecutive starts over any of the Mariners' first 18 contests of the season, appearing in nine games in total while going 2-for-24 with a 32.1 percent strikeout rate. Raleigh should receive more consistent playing time at Tacoma, while his demotion clears the way for both Murphy and Torrens to take on larger roles behind the plate at the big-league level.
