The Twins optioned Godoy to Triple-A St. Paul following Sunday's 9-3 win over the Rays, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Minnesota already has two other catchers on the active roster in Gary Sanchez and Ryan Jeffers, so it was an easy decision for the organization to send Godoy back to the minors as it reduces its roster from 28 to 26 ahead of Monday's deadline to do so. Following his April 23 call-up, Godoy appeared in just one game, going 0-for-3 with two walks and two runs.

Gallagher was diagnosed with a strained left hamstring after exiting Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Gallagher went 1-for-1 with an RBI single before departing the game in the bottom of the fourth inning following his second plate appearance, when he appeared to tweak his hamstring while running out a sacrifice hit. Though the Royals are labeling Gallagher as day-to-day, there's a good chance that he lands on the 10-day injured list.

Gallagher was removed in the bottom of the fourth of Sunday's game against the Yankees with an apparent hamstring injury, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. He went 1-for-1 with an RBI single before departing.

Making a start at catcher while No. 1 backstop Salvador Perez serves as the designated hitter, Gallagher could't make it through half of the game before he was forced to exit. He looked to be grabbing at his hamstring while he ran out a sacrifice bunt in the fourth inning, with Gallagher checking out of the contest for a pinch runner upon reaching base. The Royals will re-evaluate Gallagher after Sunday's contest, but if he's in any danger of landing on the injured list, expect Kansas City to call up another catcher from the minors.

McCann is not starting Sunday's game against the Phillies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

McCann started the first two games of the series and will receive a day off after going 0-for-6 with three strikeouts. Tomas Nido will take over behind the plate in the finale.

Hedges is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

After three straight turns behind the plate, Hedges will get a breather for the series finale in Oakland. Luke Maile will handle the Guardians pitching staff Sunday.

The Rangers activated Heim (personal) from the paternity list Sunday.

The Rangers will temporarily keep three catchers on the active roster with Heim's return, as Texas opted to send reliever Kolby Allard to Triple-A Round Rock rather than demoting No. 3 backstop Sam Huff. Even with Huff in the mix, he's still expected to see most of his usage as a designated hitter or bench bat, so Heim should remain the primary backup to No. 1 catcher Mitch Garver, who starts Sunday's series finale with Atlanta.

Trevino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Trevino will sit for the third time in four games and may have slipped to the No. 2 spot behind Kyle Higashioka on the depth chart at catcher during his ongoing slump at the dish. Dating back to April 16, Trevino has gone hitless in 14 at-bats.

Caratini (undisclosed) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Sunday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The 28-year-old landed on the COVID-19 IL on Tuesday and will rejoin the active roster after clearing MLB's testing protocols. Caratini should resume duties as the Brewers' No. 2 catcher behind Omar Narvaez and will likely see most of his starts against left-handed pitchers.

Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Contreras will head to the bench after starting the past nine games, and he hit .273/.385/.364 with three doubles, six walks, four RBI and six runs during that stretch. Yan Gomes will take over behind the plate in Sunday's series finale at Milwaukee.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

With Gary Sanchez returning from an abdominal injury over the weekend, Jeffers looks as though he'll fade into more of a part-time role after starting 11 times in 13-game stretch from April 15 to April 28. He'll now sit for the second time in the series while Sanchez draws the start behind the plate.
