The Rockies are expected to select Serven's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of Tuesday's game against the Giants, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

He'll serve as Colorado's new No. 2 catcher behind Elias Diaz, after the Rockies optioned Dom Nunez to Albuquerque following Monday's 7-6 loss in the series opener. Aside from getting the occasional breather in a day game after a night game, Diaz should see the overwhelming share of starts behind the dish, so Serven may end up playing less than the typical backup catcher. The 27-year-old is heading to the big leagues for the first time after submitting a .912 OPS in 96 plate appearances at Albuquerque this season.

Stephenson (head) will catch and bat fifth Tuesday against the Guardians.

Stephenson left Saturday's game against the Pirates after taking a foul ball off his mask, but he passed concussion tests. He sat out Sunday but is ready to reclaim his regular role following Monday's scheduled off day.

Mets manager Buck Showalter said McCann underwent successful surgery on his left wrist Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Showalter noted that McCann's procedure to repair a fractured hamate bone will likely keep the backstop on the shelf until late June. While McCann is on the mend from surgery, Tomas Nido and Patrick Mazeika are expected to split work behind the dish.

Heim was involved in the Rangers' six-run first inning, producing a run on a fielder's choice, then provided cushion in the seventh with a solo blast. It was his fourth home run and first in nine contests. He's been unable to sustain a terrific start, hitting .188 (6-for-32) over the last 10 games. With news that Mitch Garver (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Heim's days as the primary catcher are numbered.

Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in a 3-1 victory versus Oakland on Monday.

Sanchez was the only Minnesota player with multiple hits in the contest, and his sixth-inning 433-foot homer provided the final run in his team's win. The veteran has largely alternated time behind the plate and at DH so far his season, which has kept his bat in the lineup on a near-everyday basis. Sanchez is slashing a modest .217/.294/.424 on the campaign, but he has picked things up of late, going 5-for-15 with three doubles, two homers and four RBI over his past four games.

Casali went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three total runs and four total RBI in Monday's 7-6 victory versus Colorado.

Batting out of the No. 9 spot in the order, Casali drove in each of the Giants' first four runs with a solo homer in the third inning and a three-run shot in the fifth. This was Casali's third career multi-homer game and his first since 2015. The backup catcher has been red hot over his past four contests, going 7-for-10 with three homers, eight RBI, four runs and three walks.
