Willson Contreras 1B | BOS
Cubs' Willson Contreras: Could be back for Milwaukee series
Manager Joe Maddon said that Contreras (hamstring) could be ready to return from the 10-day injured list at some point during the Cubs' four-game series in Milwaukee that begins Thursday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Contreras began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa over the past weekend, going hitless in four at-bats while logging nine total innings behind the dish. The Cubs will likely check in with Contreras on Monday and see how he's feeling after Sunday's rest day before determining his next step. Contreras has been sidelined since Aug. 4 with the right hamstring strain.

Victor Caratini C | MIN
Cubs' Victor Caratini: Gets breather
Caratini is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners.
Caratini will get a day off after starting in each of the past six games, logging three turns behind the plate and three at first base. He won't be in store for much action at the latter position moving forward now that Anthony Rizzo has shaken off a back injury, but Caratini should remain ahead of Jonathan Lucroy on the depth chart at catcher through the weekend. Manager Joe Maddon relayed Monday that top backstop Willson Contreras (hamstring) could be ready to come off the injured list at some point during the four-game series in Milwaukee that begins Thursday, according to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com.

J.T. Realmuto C | PHI
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Gets rest day
Realmuto is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.
Realmuto drew his 20th consecutive start -- with 19 coming at catcher -- in Sunday night's 5-2 win over the Mets, so he'll just be getting a breather with the Phillies facing a quick turnaround for Monday's series opener. The rest day can only help Realmuto, who went hitless across 11 at-bats over the weekend. Andrew Knapp spells him behind the dish.

Tucker Barnhart C | TEX
Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Resting Monday
Barnhart is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.
Barnhart was behind the plate for the front end of Sunday's doubleheader with the Cardinals, going 0-for-4 in that contest before entering the nightcap as a pinch hitter and drawing a walk in his plate appearance. He'll just be getting some routine maintenance Monday while Curt Casali checks in at catcher.

Yan Gomes C | CHC
Nationals' Yan Gomes: Gets second straight start
Gomes will start at catcher and bat eighth Monday against the Mets.
He'll be rewarded with a second straight turn behind the dish after going 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Marlins. Though Gomes' production has been trending upward over the last couple of weeks, he still appears to be second on the depth chart at catcher behind Kurt Suzuki.

Andrew Knizner C | SEA
Cardinals' Andrew Knizner: Blasts second home run
Knizner went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a losing effort in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Reds on Sunday.
Knizner was recalled from Triple-A Memphis prior to the game and flashed his power with a 368-foot blast to left field the third inning. The 24-year-old is hitting just .196 in 46 at-bats with the Cardinals this season but fared much better in the minors, slashing .276/.357/.463 with 12 long balls in 66 games .

Tomas Nido C | DET
Mets' Tomas Nido: Activated from injury list
Nido (concussion) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Nido had been symptom-free for a handful of days since he suffered his concussion back on Aug. 24. He'll slot back in as the No. 2 catcher on the depth chart behind Wilson Ramos.

Tucker Barnhart C | TEX
Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Heads to bench for Game 2
Barnhart is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Deivi Grullon C | BOS
Phillies' Deivy Grullon: Called up from Triple-A
The Phillies selected Grullon's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.
The clear No. 3 option on the depth chart at catcher, Grullon isn't expected to function as anything more than an emergency option behind J.T. Realmuto and Andrew Knapp. The 23-year-old batted .283 with 21 home runs and 77 RBI in 457 plate appearances with Lehigh Valley this season.
