Knizner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

After Yadier Molina (foot) returned from the injured list Saturday, Knizner's time as the Cardinals' No. 1 catcher came to an end. While Molina was sidelined, Knizner went 6-for-34 (.176 average) over a 10-game stretch.

Smith went 2-for-6 with three RBI and a run scored Saturday in the Dodgers' 14-11 win over the Angels.

Smith was one of five Dodgers to provide multiple hits on the night to help his side snap a four-game losing streak. The 26-year-old backstop has recorded at least one hit in all but one of his last nine games, slashing .324/.351/.529 over that span.

Nola (hand) will catch and bat eighth Saturday against San Francisco.

Nola left Friday's game with a left hand injury. X-rays came back negative, and he won't wind up being forced to miss any games. He's gotten off to a bit of a slow start after missing most of April with a broken finger, going just 2-for-11 at the plate through five games, though that sample size is far too small to cause much concern.

Stallings isn't starting Saturday's game against the Cubs.

Stallings had gone 3-for-10 with a double, a run, two walks and a strikeout in the last three games. Michael Perez will start at catcher and bat eighth.

Gomes isn't starting Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Gomes had started in each of the last six games and went 9-for-24 with three home runs, a double, six RBI and four runs during that time. Alex Avila will start behind the dish and bat eighth.

Nola's underwent X-rays on his left hand Friday that came back negative, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Nola was hit by a pitch on his left hand in the top of the sixth inning Friday, and he's now been diagnosed with a left hand contusion. However, manager Jayce Tingler didn't sound too concerned about the injury and said that the catcher could return to the lineup as soon as Saturday.

Realmuto went 3-for-5 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 12-2 rout of Atlanta.

The game was already well in hand when Realmuto took Carl Edwards deep in the eighth inning. The All-Star catcher had gone just 3-for-20 over his prior eight games, but on the season Realmuto still boasts a .308/.407/.516 slash line with four homers, two steals, 14 runs and 15 RBI through 30 contests.

Gomes went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer and a strikeout in Friday's 11-4 win over the Yankees.

Gomes homered in his first plate appearance but failed to get on base in any of his other at-bats. However, the 33-year-old has been on a tear recently, as he's hit .375 with three home runs, a double, six RBI and four runs in his last six games.

Nola left Friday's game against the Giants in the bottom of the sixth inning due to an apparent left hand injury, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Nola was hit by a pitch on his left hand in the top of the sixth, and Victor Caratini stepped in behind the dish to begin the bottom half of the inning. Nola missed nearly a month with a broken left finger to begin the season, and it's not yet clear whether he'll miss time after leaving Friday's game.

Narvaez is making progress in his return from a left hamstring strain, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Narvaez landed on the injured list at the start of May and was expected to miss two weeks. He resumed running recently and is expected to start catching over the weekend, so he appears to be roughly on that same schedule. Manny Pina (toe) should return from the injured list within the next two days and will spend a brief time as the team's starting catcher until Narvaez returns.
