Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Mets C Travis d'Arnaud not destined to change positions
The Mets are not considering moving catcher Travis d'Arnaud to a new position despite his recent spate of injuries.
d'Arnaud missed 46 games this season with a broken pinkie, which was the result of a hit-by-pitch. But he also suffered a concussion last season when Alfonso Soriano hit him in the head with a backswing and broke his toe when a foul ball slammed off his foot in 2013. He is now dealing with a hyperextended elbow sustained while making a tag at the plate.
Terry Collins, however, is not about to move him elsewhere.
"I don't know why we would," he told the New York Daily News. "Number one, I don't know where he is going to go. Is he going to play third? I don't think so. Is he going to go play second, or center field or left field? If he plays, somebody doesn't."
Collins added that he hopes d'Arnaud can return to the lineup Tuesday in Milwaukee.

Mets C Travis d'Arnaud leaves Saturday's contest with injury
Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud exited Saturday's game in the sixth inning after suffering an apparent arm injury while attempting to tag Braves catcher A.J. Pierzynski on a sacrifice fly. The Mets announced that d'Arnaud suffered a left elbow injury. X-rays were negative and he is day-to-day with a hyperextended elbow.
With Pierzynski on third base, Pedro Ciriaco hit a fly ball to left field, and Michael Cuddyer's throw came up the line to d'Arnaud, at the same time Pierzynski headed home.
d'Arnaud and Pierzynski were tangled up and the Mets catcher lay on the field for several minutes before leaving under his power and being replaced by Kevin Plawecki.
d'Arnaud had recently returned from the disabled list after breaking his finger. He was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs before leaving the game.

Mesoraco has been battling the injury all season and got shut down on his most recent minor league rehab assignment.
The surgery appears to be season ending. Mesoraco said he'd be able to do his offseason work on schedule.
"It's disappointing," Mesoraco said, per MLB.com. "I've been trying so long to get it better and get it to the point where I can play, that at this point there's just nothing else that we can do. I feel good about getting it done and moving on to next season."

Hernandez, on the DL with a broken bone in his hand, was a Rule 5 pick by the Diamondbacks this offseason. The Diamondbacks would need to keep him on the active roster to avoid losing him back to the Rays.
Hernandez has not seen any big-league action this season, after undergoing surgery to repair the bone at the beginning of spring training. He has one hit in eight at-bats through his first three rehab games with Class A Kane County.
