Manager Aaron Boone is hoping that Sanchez (groin) will be ready for the start of postseason play Oct. 4, Randy Miller of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Boone's comments seem to indicate the Yankees aren't concerned about getting Sanchez back before the end of the regular season -- little surprise given that they clinched a postseason berth Thursday night -- and are instead focusing on getting him back to 100 percent, or at least close to it, for the playoffs. Sanchez still has some steps to go in his recovery, however.

Garver went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks while scoring three times in a victory over the Royals on Thursday.

Garver crushed a 421-foot shot to center field in the fifth inning to even the score at 5-5. After hitting only seven homers in 302 at-bats last season, Garver has exploded for 31 long balls in 297 at-bats in 2019. He leads all major-league catchers with 18 home runs since the All-Star break and ranks second at the position in total homers for the season. Remarkably, he has posted such prodigious power numbers despite splitting time with Jason Castro behind the plate. In fact, Garver's 9.6 AB/HR ranks first in the majors among players with 300 or more plate appearances.

Sanchez (groin) has progressed to running on a treadmill, though his timetable remains uncertain, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.

Sanchez was diagnosed with a groin strain nearly one week ago, so it's good news that he's already progressed to running. When asked about his return, Sanchez stated "maybe before the season is over. We'll see how it goes with all the exams I'm getting."

Garver is not in the lineup Wednesday against the White Sox.

Garver went 0-for-4 Tuesday, ending a six-game hitting streak. Jason Castro takes over behind the plate in his absence.

Narvaez is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Pirates.

Narvaez has gone 9-fo-19 with three homers over his last five games. Tom Murphy starts behind the plate in his absence.

McCann will be on the bench Wednesday in Minnesota.

McCann owns a solid .268/.333/.488 slash line over his last 11 games. Zack Collins will take over behind the plate Wednesday.

Nola went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-0 victory against the Pirates on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old is scorching at the moment, having gone 7-for-9 (.778) with three RBI in his last two games. He's been on base in eight of his last 10 plate appearances. Overall, he's hitting .280 with 10 home runs, 27 RBI, 35 runs and one steal in 200 at-bats this year.

Narvaez went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an RBI single in a 6-0 victory against the Pirates on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old is hitting very well, having gone 9-for-19 (.474) with three home runs in his last five games. Narvaez already has career highs in every category, and with this hot streak, he's back on track to set a new high-water mark in average too. Narvaez is hitting .284 with 22 home runs, 55 RBI and 63 runs in 405 at-bats this season.

Perez went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a walk Tuesday against the Tigers.

Perez delivered run-scoring hits in both the second and third innings, playing a big role in the team's victory Tuesday. He's produced in bunches of late, driving in 10 runs in his last 10 games while also recording five multi-hit efforts in that span. For the season, he's now hitting a surprisingly strong .240/.324/.460 across 420 plate appearances.

Murphy is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Royals.

Murphy has been on a tear to start his big-league career, hitting .400/.438/.967 with four homers in his first 10 games. Josh Phegley will start behind the plate in his absence.
