  • Blue Jays' Reese McGuire: Hits fifth home run

McGuire went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and walk during a 4-3 victory against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

That gives McGuire five long balls already in just 65 at-bats. He's batting .323 too, and with three doubles to go with the homers, McGuire owns a .600 slugging percentage. Of course, it's still a small sample, as McGuire has played just 20 games. He also has eight RBI and nine runs.

Twins' Mitch Garver: Blasts 30th homer

Garver went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Nationals.

    Angels' Max Stassi: Out Tuesday

Stassi (side) remains out of the lineup Tuesday against the Indians.

  • Luke Maile C | KC

Blue Jays' Luke Maile: Could return in one week

Maile (oblique) is making solid progress in his rehab and could return within a week or so, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Maile has been on the 10-day injured list since July 27 with a left oblique strain, though he could be back in action for the final few weeks of the regular season if all goes well. He's struggled to a .153 average with two homers and nine RBI over 42 games this season with Toronto.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Heads to bench

Jansen isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Jansen has started just three games in September, and he's failed to register a hit over that stretch (0-for-9). Reese McGuire is set to handle the catching duties and hit seventh.

  • Jose Trevino C | CIN

Rangers' Jose Trevino: Situated on bench

Trevino isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays.

Trevino racked up three base knocks in Sunday's series finale, but following a team off day, he'll head to the bench. Jeff Mathis draws the start behind the dish and will hit ninth.

  • Jake Rogers C | DET

Tigers' Jake Rogers: Remains on bench

Rogers isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Rogers is 0-for-12 over four games to begin September, so he's in line for another off day Tuesday. Grayson Greiner draws the start behind the dish and will bat eighth.

  • Rays' Travis d'Arnaud: Situated on bench

D'Arnaud isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

D'Arnaud came through with an RBI double in his return to the starting lineup Sunday, though he'll head to the bench for Tuesday's series opener. Michael Perez will handle the catching duties and hit ninth.

  • Gary Sanchez DH | MIL

    Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Gets breather

Sanchez is not in Monday's lineup against the Red Sox, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

Sanchez will head to the bench for Monday's series finale against Boston after starting the first three games of the series behind the dish and going 1-for-9 with a double, three RBI and a 4:4 BB:K. In his place, Austin Romine is starting at catcher and hitting ninth.
