Gary Sanchez DH | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Not starting Monday
Sanchez will sit Monday against the Twins, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Sanchez hits the bench for the second time in three days. He's gone just 1-for-17 at the plate over his last five games. Kyle Higashioka takes over at catcher.

Austin Wynns C | ATH
Orioles' Austin Wynns: Hits third homer
Wynns went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 22-7 loss to Toronto.
The 30-year-old tried to keep the game close with his two-run single in the second inning, but his seventh-inning solo shot was little more than a consolation prize in the lopsided game. Wynns has started four of Baltimore's last eight contests, but that may be more due to a crowded weekend schedule with four games in three days against Toronto than based on performance. He's slashing .184/.238/.298 with three homers, 13 RBI, 11 runs scored and a stolen base in 123 plate appearances as the backup to Pedro Severino.

Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Doubles thrice in blowout win
Jansen went 4-for-6 with three doubles, four RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 22-7 win over Baltimore.
Sunday was the catcher's second multi-hit effort in seven games this month. Jansen's productive stretch lately has boosted his slash line to .220/.304/.453 in 169 plate appearances. He's added eight home runs, 11 doubles, 19 RBI and 23 runs scored in 57 games.

Jose Trevino C | CIN
Rangers' Jose Trevino: Sitting in second straight
Trevino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Trevino saw his workload pick up in mid-to-late August when Jonah Heim landed on the COVID-19-related injured list, but the former appears to have since faded back to the No. 2 role. With Heim drawing a second straight start behind the dish Sunday, Trevino will remain on the bench.

Christian Vazquez C | HOU
Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: On bench Sunday
Vazquez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Vazquez gets the afternoon off after catching Saturday night's extra-inning win and going 2-for-3 with a double. Kevin Plawecki starts behind the dish and bats eighth Sunday.

Max Stassi C | SF
Angels' Max Stassi: Resting Sunday
Stassi is on the bench for Sunday's game against the Astros, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The 30-year-old backstop takes a seat after going hitless in his last four games. Kurt Suzuki is catching and batting eighth Sunday.
-
Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Rests Sunday
Kirk is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.
Kirk gets the afternoon off after catching seven innings Saturday night, a game in which he went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and a walk. Danny Jansen is catching and batting seventh Sunday.
-
Austin Hedges C | CLE
Indians' Austin Hedges: Rests Sunday
Hedges is not starting Sunday's series finale against the Brewers.
Hedges has gone 0-for-12 in his last four games and 4-for-35 in his last 10, a span during which he's doubled once and hit two home runs. Ryan Lavarnway is catching and batting eighth Sunday.
-
Eric Haase C | SF
Tigers' Eric Haase: Takes seat Sunday
Haase is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.
Haase has hit .209 with two home runs and six RBI in 13 games since returning from the injured list. Dustin Garneau starts behind the dish and bats eighth Sunday.

Yasmani Grandal C | PIT
White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Mashes homer No. 20
Grandal went 3-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Saturday's 9-8 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox.
His fifth-inning blast off Ryan Brasier gave the White Sox an 8-7 lead, but the offense went cold the rest of the way. Grandal has now reached 20 homers for the fifth straight full campaign (not including the COVID-shortened 2020 season), and since returning to action in late August he's slashing a stunning .462/.577/1.000 with six home runs, 12 runs scored and 17 RBI in only 12 games with a 10:6 BB:K.
