Soderstrom (shoulder/head) remains out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Soderstrom landed hard trying to make a diving catch in left field Tuesday and will sit for the second straight contest. The Royals are also throwing left-hander Noah Cameron on Thursday, which could play a part in the lefty-hitting Soderstrom getting a second straight day out of the lineup. Carlos Cortes is starting in left and batting sixth.

Liranzo (oblique) has gone 2-for-8 with two doubles and an RBI in two games since being reinstated from Double-A Erie's 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Liranzo sustained a right oblique strain late in spring training and opened the season on the shelf, but he was cleared to make his 2026 debut for Erie this week after wrapping up a six-game rehab assignment in the Florida State League. The 22-year-old was added to the Tigers' 40-man roster over the winter, but he likely sits fourth on the organizational depth chart behind big-league catchers Dillon Dingler and Jake Rogers and Triple-A backstop Eduardo Valencia.

Dingler is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Atlanta.

Dingler started at catcher in the first two games of the series, so he'll get a breather for Thursday's matinee. Jake Rogers is behind the dish and batting ninth as the Tigers try to avoid the sweep.

Contreras went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-1 loss to the Blue Jays.

Contreras' first-inning blast off Eric Lauer, his seventh homer this season, proved to be all the offense the Red Sox could muster Wednesday. Contreras has been one of Boston's few bright spots early this year -- he's gone 7-for-19 (.368) with three homers and a 1.330 OPS in his last five games, boosting his slash line to .262/.375/.486 with 20 RBI and 16 runs scored through his first 128 plate appearances.

Soderstrom landed awkwardly on his right side after attempting to make a diving catch in left field Tuesday and was eventually taken out of the game. Manager Mark Kotsay said after the contest that the 24-year-old hasn't displayed any signs of a concussion but is dealing with some soreness, per Martin Gallegos of MLB.com, and the A's will opt to keep him on the bench Wednesday. Carlos Cortes will pick up a start in left field as a result and bat third.

Heineman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Heineman will get a breather Wednesday after he started behind the dish in the first two contests of the series. Brandon Valenzuela will fill in for Heineman at catcher, forming a battery with starting pitcher Eric Lauer.

Narvaez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

After seeing his six-game hitting streak come to an end during Tuesday's 3-0 loss, Narvaez will receive a breather for the series finale in Toronto. Connor Wong will step in behind the plate for the Red Sox and will bat seventh.

Escarra will start at catcher and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Escarra will pick up his eighth start of the season Wednesday while Austin Wells receives a routine breather for a day game after a night game. So long as Wells maintains health, Escarra will likely be in line for little more than one or two starts per week as the Yankees' No. 2 catcher.

Wells will be getting a routine day off Wednesday while the Yankees wrap up their series in Texas with a matinee game. J.C. Escarra will fill in for Wells behind the dish and will bat seventh.

Perez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Athletics.

Perez opened the scoring for the Royals with a solo blast off Hogan Harris in the sixth inning to tie the game at one apiece. After a slow start to the season, the veteran backstop has begun to heat up, going 6-for-15 (.400) with two homers and four RBI across his past three appearances. Overall, Perez owns a .196 batting average and .586 OPS with five homers, three doubles, 10 RBI and 10 runs through 28 games.
