Vazquez is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees, Scott Lauber of ESPN.com reports.

Vazquez will take a seat for Saturday's afternoon contest after going 1-for-3 Friday night. In his place, Sandy Leon will set up behind the plate and bat eighth in the order. With a doubleheader on tap for Sunday, Vazquez will likely start Game 1 while Leon takes on the duties in Game 2.

Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI on Friday against the Red Sox.

Sanchez's 14th bomb of the year gave the Yankees a one-run lead in the fifth inning of a game they'd go on to lose. He's followed up his amazing 2016 season with an outstanding .280/.362/.505 slash line, making him one of a very few elite options at catcher.

Perez slashed a dismal .178/.264/.252 in 34 games prior to the All-Star break.

The backup catcher has had a rough season, one in which he entered with a chance to take on a larger role. Outside of a cheap play in daily leagues when Yan Gomes needs a rest, Perez should not be rostered.

Thaiss was promoted to Double-A Mobile on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

The 2016 first-round pick will move up to the next level of the minor leagues after 84 games with High-A Inland Empire this season. During 385 plate appearances in 2017, Thaiss has batted .265/.353/.399 with eight home runs and 48 RBI. Although he hasn't been overly impressive, especially in terms of power at the plate, the Angels want to give him a chance to work on his game at a higher level.

Perez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.

Perez will be granted a well-earned day off after starting each of the Royals' past six games. During that stretch, the 27-year-old went 7-for-25 with two home runs and seven RBI. Drew Butera will take over behind the plate, batting eighth.

Maldonado is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

After starting each of the team's previous three games, Maldonado will get a breather during the weekend series finale against Yu Darvish and the Rangers. Juan Graterol will take over behind the plate, batting ninth.

Vazquez is not in the lineup Saturday against the Rays, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.

Vazquez went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Friday night and will get Saturday to clear his head as Sandy Leon takes over behind the plate. The 26-year-old is just 4-for-25 over his last seven starts, but offers an attractive defensive option thanks to his ability to pick off baserunners.

Mejia will suit up in Sunday's All-Star Futures Game in Miami, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Mejia will join the World Team for the second year in a row. The 21-year-old backstop is having no problem handling his first season at Double-A, slashing .338/.381/.550 through 58 games with Akron. He leads the Eastern League in batting average while ranking third in OPS. Mejia is performing at a level that should earn him a September debut once MLB rosters expand.

Moore (quadriceps) was reinstated from the DL on Friday.

Moore returns from a two-week stay on the disabled list with a right quad injury. The catcher is hitting .235/.312/.346 with four home runs and 14 RBI during 42 games this season for Triple-A Columbus.

Gomes went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Thursday's win over San Diego.

With a .233/.320/.383 slash line, five homers, 20 RBI and 20 runs, Gomes is a low-end option. His attachment to a high-powered offense is intriguing and offers a modest fantasy floor, but his upside is capped.
