Salvador Perez DH | KC
Royals' Salvador Perez: Will sit out Wednesday
Perez is expected to sit out Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports reports.
With the Royals out of playoff contention, manager Ned Yost will reward some of his regular starters with a day off in the final week. Perez, who has a healthy .269/.298/.498 line with 27 homers in 127 games this season, is expected to play in all of the Royals' games following Wednesday's breather.

Christian Vazquez C | HOU
Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Gets breather Tuesday
Vazquez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Scott Lauber of ESPN.com reports.
Vazquez will get the day off after starting three of the previous four games behind the dish for Boston, going 3-for-13 (.231) over that span. Sandy Leon will take over as the team's backstop and hit eighth in his place.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Out of Sunday lineup
Sanchez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Having started each of the Yankees' last six games, Sanchez will have the day to rest. Sanchez is in position to finish the season strong, as he's hit .319/.365/.551 with four home runs over 17 games since the start of September. Austin Romine is starting at catcher and hitting ninth Sunday.

Yan Gomes C | CHC
Indians' Yan Gomes: Smashes two homers Saturday
Gomes went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI against the Mariners on Saturday.
Gomes connected on his 12th and 13th bombs of the season in the latter innings when the game was already out of hand. Despite his outstanding game, Gomes' .230/.305/.391 slash line has been disappointing for fantasy managers.

Salvador Perez DH | KC
Royals' Salvador Perez: Behind plate Saturday
Perez (jaw) is in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.
Perez was removed from Friday's game after taking a foul tip to his face behind the plate, but he is apparently no worse for wear Saturday and will start as he regularly does. He will hit fifth against White Sox starter Dylan Covey.

James McCann C | ARI
Tigers' James McCann: Gets breather Saturday
McCann is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Twins.
As usual, McCann will get Saturday off with the Indians playing a day game following a night game. In his place, Bryan Holaday is batting sixth and starting behind the dish.

Salvador Perez DH | KC
Royals' Salvador Perez: Removed for precautionary reasons Friday
Perez was removed from Friday's game for precautionary reasons after he took a foul tip in the jaw while catching, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.
Perez was 2-for-3 at the time, and with a 6-2 lead, it probably seemed safe to put in Drew Butera for the rest of the game. Unfortunately, the Royals promptly gave up five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning after Perez was taken out. Expect Perez back in the lineup at some point this weekend, but consider him day-to-day for now.

Yan Gomes C | CHC
Indians' Yan Gomes: Sitting out Friday
Gomes is out of the lineup Friday against the Mariners.
Friday will mark the fourth time over the last five games that Gomes has been withheld from the starting lineup. Since the start of September, Gomes has appeared in just 10 of Cleveland's 20 games. Roberto Perez will draw another start behind the dish as Gomes returns to the bench.
