Garver will take a seat after going 1-for-2 with a walk and one run scored during Tuesday's series opener. In his absence, Bobby Wilson will catch and bat ninth.

McCann will take a seat after going 1-for-5 with one RBI during Tuesday's loss. In his stead, Grayson Greiner will catch Mike Fiers and bat seventh in the Tigers' order.

Vazquez is not in the lineup against the Angels on Wednesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Vazquez will receive a standard day off after going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double during Tuesday's victory. In his absence, Sandy Leon will catch Rick Porcello and bat eighth.

Sanchez was diagnosed Monday with a Grade 1 groin strain, which is expected to sideline him for 3-to-4 weeks, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic New York reports.

Sanchez was placed on the disabled list earlier Monday, but the extent of his injury wasn't known until the results of his MRI became available. Assuming the given timetable holds, Sanchez will be out until shortly after the All-Star break. Austin Romine will act as the primary starter behind the plate in the interim, with Kyle Higashioka serving as his backup.

McCann is hitting just .158 with a .316 OPS over his last 10 games. Grayson Greiner gets the start in his place Monday.

Maldonado went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and four RBI in the Angels' 7-6 loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday.

It was a big day at the plate for the 31-year-old backstop, who drove in four of his team's six runs on the day with his pair of hits that included a bases-loaded double. He's still not having an especially notable offensive season, as Maldonado is slashing .251/.309/.357 with just three home runs over his 199 at-bats.
