Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Homers in win
Jung went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Tigers.
Jung went deep in the third inning for his 16th home run and first in eight contests. His was one of three home runs hit by Texas. The young third baseman was held out of the starting lineup the previous day after a 3-for-25 (.120) stretch during which he failed to drive in a run. He actually snapped out of his funk a bit Tuesday, as Jung entered the game as a pinch hitter and drove in a run with a single.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Enjoys big night at plate
Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a grand slam, a double, two walks, three total runs, five total RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 14-1 rout of the Royals.
Ramirez stuffed the stat sheet in a massive performance that included a third-inning grand slam and a seventh-inning RBI double. The star third baseman reached base four times in total, finishing a triple shy of the cycle and adding icing on the fantasy cake with a stolen base. Ramirez has been one of the game's top hitters in June, slashing .340/.406/.660 with seven long balls, 22 RBI, 21 runs, three thefts and an 11:10 BB:K through 23 games.

Edmundo Sosa 2B | PHI
Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Snaps slump with homer
Sosa went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Cubs in Wednesday's 8-5 win.
Sosa entered Wednesday mired in a massive June swoon during which he was batting a paltry .174 with no homers, no walks and 13 strikeouts over 46 plate appearances. For one game at least, he showed that he is still capable of contributing at the plate, as he kicked off a big offensive night for the team with a two-run shot in the second inning. Sosa's primary contributions to the Phillies are versatility and defense, and given his ugly 2:43 BB:K on the campaign, there's little reason to believe he's headed for a sudden surge at the dish.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Tallies three hits Wednesday
Madrigal went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies.
With Patrick Wisdom (wrist) on the injured list, Madrigal continues to see regular playing time at third base. This was his sixth straight start at the hot corner, and he's recorded hits in all of those contests. Wisdom offers more power potential when he's able to return, but Madrigal is the better contact hitter and may be doing enough to hold onto the starting job.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Battling back tightness
Arenado was pulled from Wednesday's game against the Astros with lower-back tightness, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Arenado is officially listed as day-to-day, so his injury doesn't seem to be too severe. However, it's still possible he sits out for another game to recover. The 32-year-old third baseman was 1-for-3 with a three-run homer before leaving the game.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Set for rehab assignment
Wisdom (wrist) was cleared Wednesday to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Wisdom had been struggling mightily at the plate before he landed on the injured list June 17 due to a sprained right wrist, so the Cubs might ask him to remain with Iowa through the weekend in an effort to get his timing back. Nick Madrigal continues to draw the majority of playing time at third base for Chicago.

Taylor Walls SS | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Remains sidelined Wednesday
Walls (back) is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
As expected, Walls will miss a second straight game after being scratched from the Rays' lineup Tuesday due to tightness in the middle of his back. The hope is that he might be able to return to action in Thursday's series finale at Arizona. Vidal Brujan is covering second base and batting ninth Wednesday night at Chase Field.

Jared Triolo 3B | PIT
Pirates' Jared Triolo: Promoted to majors
Pittsburgh recalled Triolo from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.
Ke'Bryan Hayes will be sidelined for at least the next seven days because of a lower-back issue, giving Triolo an opportunity to impress at third base. The 25-year-old was a second-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft and had registered a .309/.412/.463 batting line with one home run and eight stolen bases through 41 games this season in the minors.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Lands on 10-day IL
Pittsburgh placed Hayes on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, retroactive to June 25, with lower-back stiffness.
Jared Triolo has been brought up in a corresponding roster move to help out at third base. This doesn't seem like an overly serious injury for Hayes, who had been held out of the Pirates' lineup since Saturday and thus will be eligible to return to action as early as next Tuesday.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not starting Wednesday
Muncy isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Wednesday against the Rockies, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.
After going 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in his return from the injured list Tuesday, Muncy will get another day to rest Wednesday. Yonny Hernandez will take over at third base in Muncy's absence and bat ninth.
