Jared Triolo 3B | PIT
Pirates' Jared Triolo: Back in big leagues
Triolo was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.
He's taking the roster spot of the injured Andrew McCutchen (Achilles). Triolo has collected a .664 OPS with home run and three stolen bases over 137 plate appearances during his time with the big club this season. He could see a little action at designated hitter with McCutchen out.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Smacks sixth homer
Moncada went 2-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run Tuesday against the Royals.
Moncada homered for the sixth time this season, half of which have come in his last 21 games. He's also chipped in 12 RBI while hitting .333 in that span, albeit with a 28.9 percent strikeout rate. Moncada has inched closer to being a league-average hitter this season, though his fantasy profile is still underwhelming as he has only one stolen base with 30 RBI and 26 runs scored across 284 plate appearances.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Giants' J.D. Davis: Ends power drought
Davis went 3-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 11-8 loss to the Cubs.
The 30-year-old led a four-homer barrage for the Giants, taking Hayden Wesneski deep in the sixth inning to give San Francisco a 6-4 lead, but Chicago quickly answered back and never trailed again. Davis snapped a 24-game power drought with the performance, a stretch in which he'd managed only three doubles and four RBI, but he's been showing signs of life lately -- including Tuesday's effort, he's batting .316 (12-for-28) over his last 12 contests.

Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN
Reds' Noelvi Marte: Stellar night in comeback win
Marte went 3-for-3 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's comeback win over Seattle.
Marte logged the first three-hit performance of his young career Tuesday, reaching on an infield single in the third inning, notching a hustle double in the fifth and blasting his first big-league home run in the sixth. The highly regarded rookie is now hitting .255 with five doubles, one home run, seven RBI, six runs and five steals across his first 17 games (62 plate appearances).

Taylor Walls 3B | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Could return Thursday
Manager Kevin Cash said Walls (groin) is feeling better but isn't expected to rejoin the Rays' lineup until Thursday's game against the Mariners, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Walls is sitting for the second straight game Tuesday due to a groin issue, and it appears he'll also be sidelined for Wednesday's series finale versus Boston. It doesn't appear to be a serious injury, so the 27-year-old should be back by the end of the week. Vidal Brujan is making a second consecutive start at shortstop Tuesday.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jace Peterson: Takes seat versus lefty
Peterson is absent from the lineup Tuesday versus the Rockies.
Emmanuel Rivera will cover third base and Evan Longoria will take a turn as the Diamondbacks' designated hitter with Colorado throwing left-hander Kyle Freeland. Peterson has batted .167 with a .407 OPS in 55 plate appearances against lefties this year.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN
Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Receives first day off
Suarez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
Suarez has started at third base or designated hitter in all 137 of Seattle's games so far this season, but he'll finally step out of the starting nine Tuesday while in the midst of a 4-for-33 slump. Jose Caballero will take over at the hot corner and bat eighth.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Out with tweaked shoulder
Muncy (shoulder) is out of the lineup Tuesday at Miami.
Muncy was lifted from Sunday's series finale against Atlanta after tweaking his left shoulder on a swing, though there doesn't seem to be much concern that it will be a long-term injury. Enrique Hernandez is playing third base for the Dodgers on Tuesday as Will Smith takes a turn in the DH role and Austin Barnes handles the catching duties.

Mark Vientos 1B | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: Back in action Tuesday
Vientos (foot) is batting fifth as the Mets' designated hitter Tuesday against the Nationals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Vientos hasn't seen game action since Saturday while dealing with a foot injury, but he'll rejoin the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Washington. The 23-year-old is 5-for-10 with two solo homers in his past three games but still has a disappointing .586 OPS in 144 plate appearances this season.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Reds' Kevin Newman: Beginning rehab assignment
Newman (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Louisville.
On the shelf since Aug. 19 because of a left oblique strain, Newman looks poised to return to the Reds' active roster around the end of this week. The 30-year-old infielder was slashing .253/.311/.364 with three homers and eight steals through 74 games for Cincinnati prior to the injury.
