  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Removed following HBP

Jung left Monday's game against the Rays after being hit by a pitch, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

The location and extent of Jung's injury are unclear. Ezequiel Duran would be in line for work at the hot corner if Jung is forced to miss additional time.

  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Takes seat Monday

Keith is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Keith will hit the bench for the first time in his young MLB career after starting each of the Tigers' first three contests in the season-opening sweep of the White Sox. Andy Ibanez will step in at the keystone for Keith, who went 1-for-11 with two walks in Chicago.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Absent from Monday's lineup

Paredes is not in the lineup for Monday's contest against the Rangers.

Paredes went just 2-for-15 but slugged a home run during the Rays' season-opening four-game set versus the Blue Jays. He'll take a seat for the first time in 2024 while Curtis Mead receives a start at third base.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Plates three runs Sunday

Machado went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI in Sunday's 13-4 rout of the Giants.

Machado posted his first multi-hit game and his second three-RBI performance of the campaign. The veteran has been relegated to DH duties for the Padres following offseason elbow surgery, but that has enabled him to play in all six of San Diego's games so far. Machado is slashing .217/.357/.565 with two homers, seven RBI, seven runs and a 5:4 BB:K through 23 plate appearances.

  • Jared Triolo 3B | PIT

Pirates' Jared Triolo: Out as precaution with sore foot

Triolo is not in the lineup Monday in Washington as a precaution after he fouled a ball off his foot in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Marlins, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Triolo remained in Sunday's game and said he's feeling a lot better Monday, but the team will hold him out just to be safe. The Pirates have an off day Tuesday, so Triolo could be back in action for Wednesday's matchup with the Nationals. Alika Williams will cover second base Monday in Triolo's stead.

  • Jared Triolo 3B | PIT

Pirates' Jared Triolo: Not in Monday's lineup

Triolo is out of the lineup for Monday's contest against the Nationals.

He started each of the Pirates' first four games at second base but will yield to Alika Williams in this one. Triolo went 5-for-17 with two RBI and a stolen base in Pittsburgh's four-game sweep of the Marlins.

  • Trey Lipscomb 3B | WAS

Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Cracks first big-league homer

Lipscomb went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Sunday's loss to the Reds.

In his second MLB game, the 23-year-old infielder drove a 91.6 mph fastball from Buck Farmer the other way over the right-field fence in the seventh inning for his first career homer. Lipscomb has carried his blistering spring into the regular season, going 3-for-7 with a homer and a steal to kick off his career, and he had a golden opportunity in front of him to lock down the starting job at third base while Nick Senzel (thumb) is sidelined.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

Cubs' Nick Madrigal: On bench for third straight

Madrigal is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies.

Madrigal is on the bench for the third consecutive game, with two of his absences from the lineup coming against right-handed pitchers and one coming versus a lefty. After drawing the Opening Day nod at third base and going 1-for-3 with a double in a 4-3 loss to the Rangers, Madrigal has since ceded the hot corner to Christopher Morel. Morel had been expected to see most of his starts at designated hitter this season, but the Cubs now appear inclined to take a rotational approach to that spot in the lineup while lefty-hitting outfielder Mike Tauchman essentially replaces Madrigal when Chicago faces right-handed pitching.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Returns to action

Devers went 1-for-5 in Sunday's 5-1 win over Seattle.

Devers was back in action after missing two games due to a shoulder injury. He was back at third base and batted second.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Goes yard in big win

Garcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 11-0 win over the Twins.

Garcia didn't show much pop last season with just four homers over 123 contests, but he's already halfway to matching that total in 2024. Both of his hits across three games this season half left the yard. Garcia has also struck out four times. The 24-year-old looks locked in as the Royals' third baseman and leadoff hitter, and he has plenty of protection in the lineup with Bobby Witt batting second.
