The Mets optioned Vientos to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Vientos contributed a walk-off home run in Sunday's extra-innings win over the Cardinals but now finds himself back in the minors as Starling Marte returns to the active roster. With J.D. Candelario started at first base and went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 5-2 win over the Padres.
Candelario filled in at first base for Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand), who was available off the bench. His second-inning double put an end to an 0-for-19 skid, and he eventually scored on a balk. The slumping corner infielder has spent just two days this season with average of .200 or better.

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Delivers run in loss

Christopher Morel 1B | MIA
Cubs' Christopher Morel: Hits go-ahead home run
Morel went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 3-1 win over the Mets.
Morel was hitless until the ninth inning, when he delivered a two-out home run with a runner on against New York closer Edwin Diaz to break open a 1-1 tie. The key blast was Morel's fourth of the season and first since April 9. He's not off to as fast of a start as he had last year, but the 24-year-old can heat up in a hurry, and perhaps this effort will provide the spark.
