Nick Maton DH | CHW
White Sox's Nick Maton: Pops leadoff homer
Maton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Sunday against the Angels.
Maton started for the second consecutive game at designated hitter, as Andrew Benintendi shifted back to his traditional position in left field. Maton also took over the leadoff spot Sunday and began the home half of the first inning with his first homer of the season. He's a .204 hitter across 518 career plate appearances in the majors, though he has an 11.4 percent walk rate and .150 ISO, which could combine to give him some appeal in very deep formats that reward on-base percentage.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Giants' Matt Chapman: Homers in win
Chapman went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Reds.
Chapman doubled the Giants' lead to 4-0 with a two-run homer off Nick Martinez in the sixth inning. The 31-year-old enjoyed a great first season with San Francisco and has started 2025 strong, recording a hit in all three games so far.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Available only in emergency Sunday
Manager Brandon Hyde said after Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Blue Jays that Westburg was available for the contest only if an emergency situation had arisen, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
The 26-year-old's absence from the lineup was presumed to be a rest day, but there was apparently an unspecified issue that prevented him from taking the field. Westburg is expected to be back in the lineup Monday against the Red Sox, per Weyrich, so the infielder doesn't appear to be tending to a serious concern.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Good to go Sunday
Machado (calf) is starting at third base and batting third Sunday against Atlanta, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The 32-year-old departed Saturday's contest due to right calf tightness, but his presence in the lineup Sunday indicates it's not a serious concern. Machado went 2-for-3 with a double and two walks in the season opener, though he's gone 0-for-6 with a strikeout in the past two games.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Heading to bench Sunday
Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Dylan Moore will pick up a start at third base in place of Polanco, who occupied the hot corner for each of the Mariners' first three games of the season. Polanco recorded at least one hit in each of those contests, going 5-for-10 with a home run and three RBI.

Josh H. Smith SS | TEX
Rangers' Josh Smith: Not in Sunday's lineup
Smith (quadricep) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Smith exited Saturday's contest after sustaining a quad contusion on a collision with the fence in foul territory, and he'll step out of the lineup for at least one game. According to Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News, the Rangers are optimistic Smith will return to action Monday in Cincinnati. If he's cleared to play in the series opener versus the Reds, Smith could move into a full-time role at third base in the short term after Josh Jung (neck) was placed on the injured list Sunday.

Nick Maton DH | CHW
White Sox's Nick Maton: Getting another start versus righty
Maton will start at designated hitter and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Angels.
Maton will serve as the White Sox's DH for the second day in a row, with both of those starts coming against right-handed pitching. At least until the White Sox get Josh Rojas (toe) or Mike Tauchman (hamstring) back from the injured list, Maton is getting a look as a strong-side platoon player.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Imaging negative, still day-to-day
Manager Stephen Vogt said imaging on Ramirez's right wrist came back negative, and the third baseman could be available as a pinch hitter Sunday against the Royals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
The 32-year-old suffered a right wrist sprain on a slide while attempting to steal a base Saturday, but he's avoided a serious injury and may be available off the bench Sunday. Ramirez could return to the lineup as early as Monday in San Diego, though he could miss another day or two, with Vogt noting that the Guardians "want to be super cautious" so that the star third baseman's injury "doesn't turn into something that's going to linger."

Junior Caminero 3B | TB
Rays' Junior Caminero: Out of Sunday's lineup
Caminero is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Caminero went 4-for-9 with a double and a run scored in the first two games of the season but will hit the bench for Sunday's series finale. Jose Caballero will instead start at third base and bat seventh.

Jonathan Ornelas SS | ATL
Rangers' Jonathan Ornelas: Moves up from Triple-A
The Rangers recalled Ornelas from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Texas will bring Ornelas aboard to provide some extra infield depth while Josh Jung (neck) is on the injured list. Jung's absence is unlikely to open up regular at-bats for Ornelas, as Josh Smith (quadricep) and Ezequiel Duran will be ahead of him on the depth chart at third base.
