Rivera is working through left shoulder soreness that popped up during Thursday's spring game against the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Rivera started feeling discomfort in his left shoulder when swinging the bat. He'll likely be held out for the next couple of days and could return following the Orioles' off-day Wednesday.

The Marlins optioned Pauley to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

Pauley was acquired by the Marlins from the Padres in late July in a trade package centered around Tanner Scott. Pauley will begin the 2025 regular season in Triple-A after going 7-for-26 with two walks and four RBI in spring training. He appeared in 13 regular-season games for the Padres in 2024 and could see some action in the majors in 2025 if the Marlins are in need of infield depth.

Riley (hand) will start at third base and bat second in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins.

Riley was forced to make an early exit from Friday's contest after getting hit on the right hand by a pitch, but no damage was done and he's right back in the lineup a day later. The 27-year-old has had a very successful spring so far, going 8-for-26 with two RBI and two runs scored over 11 games.

Manager Brandon Hyde said Saturday that Urias has been out since Wednesday due to a sore hamstring, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Hyde added that Urias was able to go through a full workout Saturday, and he'll likely be back in the lineup within a few days. The 30-year-old infielder is likely to grab a spot on the Orioles' Opening Day bench after turning in an .882 OPS in spring training, and he could be asked to start more often at the beginning of the year if Gunnar Henderson (side) is unavailable.

Bride went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Friday's Grapefruit League game against the Red Sox.

The 29-year-old is penciled into a starting spot for the Marlins, splitting the first base/DH workload with Matt Mervis, but Bride hasn't done much this spring to suggest he deserves the role. Through 11 appearances, he's batting just .138 (4-for-29) and is still looking for his first home run. Bride's 6:4 BB:K offers hope that he's just trying to get his timing down at the plate, and his strong finish to 2024 -- .282/.369/.485 after the All-Star break -- has earned him at least some trust from Miami.

The Mariners optioned Locklear to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.

Locklear will end up missing the cut for Seattle's Opening Day roster after going 4-for-18 with three RBI and three runs scored over 11 games in the Cactus League. The 24-year-old owns just a .535 career OPS in the majors through 49 plate appearances and will likely need to bounce back offensively in Triple-A before the Mariners consider bringing him back to the big leagues.

Ramirez batted second and went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's spring game against the Mariners.

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Friday he's leaning toward having Ramirez hit second in the 2025 regular season. He's mostly batted third during his career, but Ramirez has hit second in six of 11 Cactus League starts. He's batting .389 (7-for-18) out of the second spot in the order this spring compared to .154 (2-for-13) when batting third.

Hayes (side) will start at third base and bat leadoff in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles.

Hayes has been held out of action since March 5 due to left side tightness, but after finally resuming full baseball activities Thursday, he's now been cleared to return to the starting lineup. The 28-year-old infielder has struggled to get going this spring, posting a .583 OPS with an RBI and a run scored through seven games.

Henderson said Saturday that his right intercostal feels "a lot better," and he's hoping to be available for Opening Day, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The 23-year-old suffered the mild intercostal strain in late February but resumed baseball activities this week and is hoping to return to game action before the end of the Grapefruit League slate. Henderson will likely need to ramp up his baseball work during the upcoming week to have a realistic shot at Opening Day.

Devers (shoulders) is batting second as the designated hitter in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against Atlanta, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

It's the first official appearance of spring training for Devers, who was built up slowly during the first half of camp after his shoulder problems last year. The 28-year-old appears set to begin the season as Boston's primary designated hitter, as he said Thursday he's OK with being utilized that way after previously indicating that he was unwilling to move off third base. That development will allow Alex Bregman to step in at the hot corner after signing a deal worth up to $120 million in February, though the Red Sox haven't officially announced their plans on who will play where.
