DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Aims to start rehab games Friday
LeMahieu (calf) has joined the Yankees on their road trip and hopes to begin a minor-league rehab assignment Friday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.
LeMahieu will go through workouts with the team in Detroit and if everything goes well, he'll be cleared to play in rehab games. The veteran infielder is expected to need most, if not all, of his allotted 20 days on a rehab assignment, so LeMahieu probably won't be back from the injured list before the end of April. Once he returns, he will compete for playing time at third base with Oswaldo Cabrera.

Zach McKinstry 3B | DET
Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Not in Detroit lineup
McKinstry is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.
The left-handed hitting McKinstry started Sunday's contest versus the White Sox against a lefty, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Yankees turn to southpaw Carlos Rodon. Andy Ibanez is at third base and Manuel Margot will patrol right field for the Tigers.

Josh H. Smith SS | TEX
Rangers' Josh Smith: Heating up
Smith went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over Tampa Bay.
Smith, who started at third base in place of the injured Josh Jung (neck), scored the game-winning run on Jonah Heim's walk-off single. Smith put himself in scoring position with a two-out double one batter prior to Heim's heroics. The steal was Smith's third over the last five games, during which he's 7-for-15 with a home run, two RBI and four runs scored. His run in the starting lineup could come to an end Tuesday, when Jung is expected to be activated.

Thomas Saggese SS | STL
Cardinals' Thomas Saggese: Drills first home run
Saggese combined to go 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI in Sunday's doubleheader against the Red Sox.
In his first MLB appearance of 2025, Saggese went 1-for-3 with a run in Game 1 before being subbed out in favor of Brendan Donovan. Saggese didn't start Game 2 of the doubleheader but entered in the sixth frame. He knocked an RBI sacrifice fly in the seventh inning before belting a three-run shot in the ninth, but it wasn't enough to compete with Boston's 18 runs. Saggese will likely receive utility usage while Nolan Gorman (hamstring) is on the injured list.

Alex Bregman 3B | BOS
Red Sox's Alex Bregman: Heats up late Sunday
Bregman combined to go 4-for-9 with a home run, two doubles, six RBI, three runs scored and a walk in Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Bregman went 0-for-4 with a walk in Game 1 but came around to score the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning. He caught fire in Game 2, going 4-for-5 with three extra-base knocks and six RBI, highlighted by his three-run shot in the third inning. Bregman began the season 6-for-26 (.231) with no extra-base hits, but he has since gone 9-for-18 (.500) with seven extra-base hits and 10 RBI over his last four games.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Tallies three hits in win
Baez went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.
Baez is now 6-for-18 this season, and all six hits have come in a pair of three-hit performances. The veteran could use a little more consistency moving forward, though after seeing his average tumble to .184 during the 2024 regular season, the early 2025 results are at least a step in the right direction.

Royce Lewis 3B | MIN
Twins' Royce Lewis: Doing light activities
Twins president of baseball operations Derek Falvey said Sunday that Lewis has been doing some hitting and running but has had "no change in his status" in his recovery from a moderate hamstring strain, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Lewis suffered the injury in mid-March, and it's not a surprise he's still limited to light activities after just a few weeks. A clearer return timeline could come into focus once the 25-year-old is able to ramp up his baseball work. Brooks Lee (back) is also on the injured list, leaving Jose Miranda and Willi Castro to handle the workload at third base.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Activation coming Tuesday
Manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that Jung (neck) is scheduled to be activated from the 10-day injured list and start at third base Tuesday against the Cubs, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The 27-year-old is finishing up his rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Sunday and will travel with the big club for the three-game series in Chicago. Jung played in just two games before going down with the neck spasms and went 3-for-7 with an RBI.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
Angels' Yoan Moncada: Not starting Sunday
Moncada (thumb) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
As expected, Moncada will miss out on a second straight start while he tends to a thumb injury. Luis Rengifo will fill in at third base in place of Moncada, who is unlikely to be available off the bench Sunday but could return to the lineup in the Angels' next game Tuesday at Tampa Bay.

Jorge Polanco 2B | SEA
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Knee soreness crops up
Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants due to soreness in his surgically repaired left knee, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Polanco underwent a procedure in October to repair the patellar tendon in his left knee and didn't appear to have any issues during spring training, but he's now sitting Sunday for the second consecutive game. The 31-year-old has gone 9-for-22 with two homers and eight RBI this season, though he's been limited to just five games due to the injury and a stint on the paternity list.
