Candelario went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Orioles.

It's his second homer of the season, both of which have come in his last three games. Candelario had a rough start to the season, but he's now gone 8-for-24 (.33) over his last six contests with six extra-base hits (three doubles, one triple, two home runs).

Valencia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Tigers.

The veteran has only four hits on the season, but three of them have gone for extra bases (one double, two homers). Valencia's been getting steady playing time since Jonathan Schoop (oblique) hit the disabled list, but as of yet he hasn't done much to prove he should continue seeing his name on the lineup card once the O's get healthier.

Rendon (toe) is out of the lineup yet again Wednesday against the Mets.

Rendon fouled a pitch off his toe Friday and has now missed five straight games. At this point, he's missed half the time that he would have been out if he were placed on the disabled list right away, but since DL stints can only be backdated by three days, he'd have to miss another week if the Nationals decide to go that route. Washington has an off day Thursday, so it's possible that with one more day of rest he'll be good to go Friday against the Dodgers.

Suarez (thumb) has started some baseball activities and could travel with the club (to continue working out -- not to return from the DL) later this week, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports. "I just take the groundballs and put them on the side," Suarez said on Tuesday. "I try to grip the bat to see how it feels, but no swings or throwing yet. I will grab the ball and bat and see how much I can squeeze. That's all we're doing right now."

The Reds won't have a timetable yet for Suarez until he begins hitting and throwing, so while this news is positive, his return isn't yet imminent.

Donaldson (shoulder) is expected to need more than 10 days on the disabled list, and is unlikely to return against the Yankees at any point this weekend, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Donaldson was placed on the DL retroactive to April 11. Manager John Gibbons doesn't think he will be ready to return Saturday, which is when he would be eligible to come off the shelf. Gibbons didn't make any promises heading into next week's series against Boston, starting Tuesday, but that seems to be the target date for Donaldson at this point in time. Expect another update on his status by the end of this weekend.

McMahon will start at third base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Nolan Arenado's five-game suspension will conclude after Wednesday's game, so McMahon will likely head back to a regular bench role when the Rockies return to Colorado for their series opener with the Cubs on Friday. Though he's been included in the lineup in five of the Rockies' past seven games, McMahon has recorded just three hits while striking out in half of his 18 at-bats during that span.

Ramirez went 3-for-5 in Tuesday's win over the Twins, hitting his fourth home run of the season.

Ramirez was one of four Cleveland batters to go deep in Tuesday's contest, hitting a solo shot off of Twins starter Jake Odorizzi to lead off the sixth. Ramirez also collected a couple of singles to make this his first three-hit game of the year. It's only his second multi-hit game on the season, and he still has yet to record a double (he led all of baseball last year with 56 doubles). He's sitting at a .200/.323/.418 slash line, but the season is still very young.

Devers went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Angels.

Devers hit his second home run of the season in the fourth inning off right-handed reliever Luke Bard. Nothing in his early season stat-line particularly stands out, though he is making good contact as indicated by his 42 percent hard-hit rate. He has batted primarily fifth or sixth in the lineup, and given the strength of the Red Sox offense, that should give him plenty of opportunities to drive in runs.

Moncada went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and a steal in the White Sox's 10-2 loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.

Moncada is now slashing .218/.328/.400 following the multi-hit effort against Oakland that also saw him launch his second long ball of the season to account for his team's only runs. The stolen base was also his second in his last two contests after he didn't even attempt a steal in his first 12 games of the year. Owners will hope that Moncada can use this strong showing as a building block going forward as he tries to make good on the promise that made him such a highly touted minor-league prospect. Contact is what he needs to work on most.

Longoria was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Diamondbacks due to a left ankle injury, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic Bay Area reports.

An ankle issue that bothered Longoria during spring training resurfaced Tuesday, so Pablo Sandoval will now start at third base. Manager Bruce Bochy reported that Longoria would likely need a couple days to rest, so look for Sandoval to fill in at the hot corner in the meantime.
