  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Goes yard Thursday

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday against the Twins.

Bregman launched his sixth home run of the season in the first inning off Jose Berrios. He now has two home runs in his past three games but prior to that had failed to record an extra-base hit for five consecutive contests. All told, his .260/.392/.481 line through 130 plate appearances is largely in line with expectations, especially when considering his strikeout rate is in line with his career norms.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Continues hot streak

Arenado went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in an 11-6 victory against the Rockies on Thursday.

His start to the season wasn't horrible, but Arenado has really turned it on as of late. He is batting .362 (17-for-47) with six homers, 15 RBI and 12 runs in the last 12 games. In the last three contests of the four-game series against the Brewers, Arenado went 6-for-13 (.462) with three home runs and seven RBI. Most of that has been away from Coors Field too. Over the entire season, he's batting .297 with nine homers, 27 RBI, 24 runs and one steal in 128 at-bats.

  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Playing at extended spring training

Burger (Achilles) is playing in simulated games at extended spring training, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Burger is slowly working his way back from a ruptured Achilles that he suffered in February of 2018. Barring any setbacks, the 2017 first-round pick could be cleared to play in live games at extended spring training in the near future, which would likely mark the final step in his recovery process before he's cleared to report to a minor-league affiliate.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Rays' Matt Duffy: Cleared for rehab stint

Duffy (hamstring) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with High-A Charlotte on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Duffy has been sidelined all season due to a hamstring injury, but he's finally been cleared to head out on a rehab assignment after getting a sufficient amount of at-bats in during extended spring training games over the past few days. The third baseman is expected to spend the next 7-to-10 days with the Stone Crabs before being reevaluated.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Braves' Josh Donaldson: Should be ready for weekend

Manager Brian Snitker said Donaldson (calf) should be good to go for the Braves' weekend series against the Marlins, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

It sounds like Donaldson is on track to rejoin the starting lineup against the Marlins over the weekend after missing a trio of games due to a sore right calf. The veteran third baseman is slashing .258/.395/.495 with five homers through 28 games this season.

  • Carter Kieboom 3B | CLE

Nationals' Carter Kieboom: On bench for series finale

Kieboom is not in the lineup Thursday against the Cardinals.

Kieboom has gone just 3-for-22 (.136) with a pair of homers and nine strikeouts in six games since earning a promotion near the end of April. As such, he'll take a seat for Thursday's series finale as he looks to hit the reset button. Wilmer Difo is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth in his place.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Multi-hit effort in loss

Chapman went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Chapman got the new month off to a strong start with his second two-hit effort of the last three games. The 26-year-old third baseman has reached safely in four of his last five contests overall, and he's coming off a productive month of April during which he drove in 16 runs with the aid of 12 extra-base hits (five doubles, seven home runs).

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Braves' Josh Donaldson: Sitting again due to calf issue

Donaldson (calf) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres.

Donaldson's sore right calf will keep him on the bench for a third straight day. According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Donaldson will at least be available as a pinch hitter, offering optimism that he'll be able to avoid the injured list and rejoin the lineup at some point this weekend in Miami. Johan Camargo will man third base in his absence in the series finale with San Diego.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Rocking for Stripers

Riley went 4-for-5 with a double, two solo home runs and a third run scored for Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

His second blast actually cleared the left-field scoreboard at Coolray Stadium, traveling an estimated 492 feet. Riley is on fire right now, going yard five times in the last six games while slashing a dizzying .542/.577/1.333. He's blocked from a promotion as long as Josh Donaldson is healthy, but the 22-year-old is making a strong case that he's just about ready to face big-league pitching.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Powers big win over Brew Crew

Arenado went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's 11-4 win over the Brewers.

The third baseman's sluggish start at the dish is a distant memory. Arenado is now slashing .285/.328/.553 through 30 games, but he's racked up six multi-hit efforts and five of his eight homers on the year in his last 10 contests.
