Peterson was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Peterson will remain in Baltimore's organization after being designated for assignment by the team and subsequently passing through waivers unclaimed. Across 29 games with the big club this season, Peterson has compiled a lackluster .220/.269/.330 slash line with two home runs and four steals.

Toro is not in the lineup Thursday against the Mariners, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Toro has appeared in 10 games since earning a promotion, slashing .222/.317/.444 with two home runs and one stolen base in those appearances. Aledmys Diaz is starting at the hot corner and hitting sixth in his place in this one.

Moustakas (wrist) is not in Thursday's lineup against the Cubs.

He took a grounder off his left wrist back on Aug. 26 and the issue has continued to linger, despite the fact he has played in a couple games since then. According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, he's still too sore to grip a bat and recently received an injection to help with the healing. Hernan Perez starts at third base and will hit sixth.

Newman (hip) is starting at shortstop and leading off Thursday against the Marlins.

He was banged up earlier this week, but made a pinch-hit appearance Wednesday, so it's not surprising to see him back in the mix. Newman is hitting .450 with three home runs and two steals over his last 10 games, thanks largely to him notching nine hits in three games at Coors Field last week.

Wednesday's appearance was a good sign for the rookie, who hasn't started since Saturday. Barring a pre-game setback, it wouldn't be surprising to see Newman re-enter the starting lineup Thursday. He's been on a tear lately, collecting 18 hits in his last 36 at-bats.

Longoria is not in Thursday's lineup against the Cardinals.

Longoria is hitting .325 with two home runs, 11 strikeouts and one walk over his last 10 games. Corban Joseph will start at third base and hit second.

Senzel (shoulder) is not in Thursday's lineup against the Phillies.

He was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to right shoulder soreness but was available off the bench, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. While he can hit, manager David Bell said Senzel won't be able to play center field for a couple days. Michael Lorenzen will get a start in center field while batting seventh.

Suarez (hand) is starting at third base and hitting third Thursday against the Phillies.

As expected, Suarez returns to action after missing the last three games with a sore hand after getting hit by a pitch Sunday. He is hitting .273 with 11 home runs, 20 runs and 16 RBI in 31 games since the start of August.

Muncy (wrist) fielded groundballs and began swinging at soft toss Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Muncy took his first steps toward returning to action with light baseball activities Wednesday. Manager Dave Roberts has suggested that Muncy could return to game action as early as next week. The 29-year-old has not played since suffering a small crack in his right wrist after being hit by a pitch Aug. 28.

Candelario went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Royals.

Making his second straight start at first base, Candelario had a productive evening from the No. 5 spot in the lineup. The 25-year-old is slashing just .203/.291/.335 in the majors this season, though his .320/.416/.588 line in 39 games with Triple-A Toledo lends some degree of optimism that he could finish the year strong with the Tigers.
