Moustakas (quad) is not in the starting lineup Thursday against the Indians.

Moustakas will remain sidelined for a second straight game as he continues to nurse a bruised left quad. Kyle Farmer is starting at second base in this one, while Moustakas should be considered day-to-day ahead of Friday's series opener against the Brewers.

Anderson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Orioles.

The 27-year-old then followed it up with an RBI single in the second game -- with both hits proving to be game-winners in a couple of narrow victories. Anderson has had a solid start to 2020 despite the Marlins' COVID-19 woes, going 5-for-19 through six games with two homers and five RBI.

Newman is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

Newman will take a seat for the second time in three days, opening up a spot at shortstop for JT Riddle. The 27-year-old Newman went 0-for-4 in Wednesday's 5-2 loss, spelling an end to a three-game hitting streak.

Donaldson (calf) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Donaldson hasn't appeared in a game for the Twins since Friday, when he exited the contest with right calf tightness. While the Twins have thus far downplayed Donaldson's calf issue, the fact that he hasn't been deployed even as a pinch hitter suggests a move to the injured list remains a distinct possibility. Marwin Gonzalez will cover third base again Thursday while Donaldson sits on the bench.

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Giants.

Make it three consecutive games with a home run for Arenado after he went eight straight games without an extra-base hit to begin the season. Arenado's track record is virtually unrivaled among his peers and the numbers will only get better with more home cooking at Coors Field.

Toro went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an RBI single and two runs scored in Wednesday's 14-7 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Toro opened the scoring by plating Carlos Correa with a single in the second inning before scoring on a Kyle Tucker homer. The 23-year-old rookie then went yard himself in the fourth -- his first home run of the season. He has two RBI, five runs and a .158 batting average in 26 plate appearances, but Toro has hit well in the minor leagues and should keep getting opportunities -- if not everyday ones -- to bring his numbers up.

Escobar went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and a hit-by-pitch in Wednesday's 14-7 win over the Astros.

Escobar got aboard in the fourth inning when he was hit by a Lance McCullers pitch, and the third baseman came around to score on David Peralta's bases-loaded triple. Escobar then supplied the fourth Arizona homer of the game in the eighth to cap the scoring. Escobar is hitting .159 with six RBI and six runs scored through 53 plate appearances this season.

Madrigal was diagnosed with a separated left shoulder and will be placed on the 10-day injured list, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury Tuesday as his left arm was jammed into the ground on a feet-first slide attempt. Madrigal is expected to be sidelined for at least a few weeks, but the White Sox hope he'll be able to return by the end of August. Tim Anderson (groin) is also on the IL, leaving Leury Garcia and Danny Mendick as the top options to work in the middle infield.

Moustakas (quadriceps) is not starting Wednesday's game against Cleveland.

After dealing with a forearm injury, Moustakas returned to the lineup Monday but exited Tuesday's contest with a bruised left quad. The injury is apparently serious enough to keep him out of the lineup again as Josh VanMeter will take over at second base and bat seventh.

Longoria is not starting Wednesday against the Rockies, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Longoria missed the first six games of the season due to an oblique injury but started six in a row upon his return. He'll get a rest after posting an .892 OPS in those contests, with Donovan Solano sliding to third base and Wilmer Flores getting the start at second.
