Devers (ankle) isn't in the lineup Tuesday against the Rays, but he hit in the cage, did some running and fielded grounders, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

The 23-year-old is absent from the lineup for the second straight contest due to a sore ankle, but he was feeling "way better" after Tuesday's workout, per manager Ron Roenicke. The skipper didn't indicate whether Devers was likely to return to action for Wednesday's contest, but he's clearly trending in the right direction.

Moustakas (quadriceps) has yet to run or face live pitching as of Tuesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Moustakas has been out for a week with a bruised quadriceps, though he previously hoped to be able to return Tuesday. He's since been placed on the injured list, as he's behind that more optimistic schedule, but he expects to be able to return when first eligible Sunday.

Vargas was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Twins on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.

Vargas was designated for assignment by Arizona on Thursday, but he'll find a new home with the Twins via trade. The 29-year-old hit .150 with two runs and five strikeouts over 20 at-bats this season and should serve as infield depth in Minnesota.

Devers tweaked his ankle Sunday and was expected to miss his second straight contest Tuesday, and he'll be replaced by Jonathan Arauz in the lineup once again. The 23-year-old is expected to meet with the medical staff Tuesday, and a better idea of his return timeline could come into focus afterward.

Senzel (groin) is back in the lineup as expected Tuesday against the Royals, leading off and playing center field.

Senzel left Friday's game against the Brewers with a tight left groin and sat out both of the Reds' weekend games. He's hit a respectable .233/.314/.467 through 10 games this season.

Rendon went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, three runs scored and two walks in Monday's win over the Athletics.

Rendon blasted a two-run shot in the bottom of the first and that would set the tone for the rest of his night, as he reached base four times while crossing home plate thrice. This was a much-needed performance for the slugging third baseman, who was stuck in a 0-for-19 slump prior to Monday's contest.

Chapman went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a triple, six RBI and three runs scored in Monday's loss against the Angels.

Chapman has been on an absolute tear of late and has posted four straight multi-hit performances while going deep in three consecutive games. The star third baseman has a 1.316 slugging percentage in those four games while racking up four homers, two doubles, one triple and 10 RBI.

Astudillo is getting "very close" to being an option to be called up to the majors, manager Rocco Baldelli told Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic.

Astudillo tested positive for COVID-19 before summer camp began and wasn't cleared until July 26. He was behind in his training as a result and has been working his way back at Minnesota's alternate training site in St. Paul. The Twins currently have just three non-pitchers on the bench, so he could be needed as a third catcher and backup corner infielder soon.

Donaldson (calf) has done some running but not sprinting, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "It's not something that's ramping up very quickly at the moment," manager Rocco Baldelli said.

While it doesn't sound like Donaldson has had a setback, he doesn't appear to be making much progress. He suffered the calf injury on July 31 and at first the injury was thought to be minor. He then was later placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to Aug. 4. It doesn't sound like he'll return from the injured list when eligible and could be out much longer.

Arenado went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 12-8 loss to Arizona.

Arenado was perfect at the dish, collecting four hits and an RBI sacrifice fly in his five plate appearances. The 29-year-old third baseman has struggled so far this season and Monday's performance was just his second multi-hit game of 2020. He's batting just .241 with four extra-base hits.
