Brett Harris 3B | ATH
Athletics' Brett Harris: Making third straight start
Harris will start at third base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Harris will be included in the starting nine for the third contest in a row after going 5-for-7 with a double over his previous two games. The Athletics appear set to give Harris another look as their everyday third baseman, allowing Darell Hernaiz to shift over to second base in place of the slumping Zack Gelof, who will hit the bench for the third game in a row after striking out at a 36.4 percent clip since the beginning of September.

Mark Vientos 3B | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: Exiting lineup Wednesday
Vientos is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Vientos has been one of the Mets' top hitters since the All-Star break, but he's cooled down a bit over the past couple weeks. Over his last 10 games, Vientos has gone just 5-for-33 (.152 average) with 11 strikeouts, so manager Carlos Mendoza will give the slugger the night off to get a mental reset. Starling Marte will replace Vientos as the Mets' designated hitter.

Kyle Karros 3B | COL
Rockies' Kyle Karros: Giving way to Farmer on Wednesday
Karros is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Kyle Farmer will get the nod at third base Wednesday while Karros retreats to the bench for the second time in three games. Karros has received the majority of the starts at the hot corner in September but is slashing just .214/.267/.238 in 12 games so far this month.

Nolan Gorman 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Could get some looks at first base
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Wednesday that Gorman could "potentially" see some start at first base following the season-ending injury to Willson Contreras (shoulder), Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Alec Burleson will be the team's primary first baseman down the stretch, but Gorman might also see some action there on days when Burleson plays the outfield. Gorman's playing-time outlook took a hit with the returns of Brendan Donovan and Nolan Arenado from the injured list, but Gorman now has another avenue to playing time, albeit a narrow one.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Reds' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Getting breather
Hayes is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in St. Louis.
Hayes will receive Wednesday off after going hitless across his last four games. Sal Stewart will handle third base and bat fifth in Wednesday's matinee.

Jordan Lawlar 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Soft stick wins it
Lawlar went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 win over San Francisco.
Lawlar entered in the sixth inning and stayed in the game as the designated hitter. His 44.7-mph, check-swing roller to first base with the bases loaded was enough to plate the winning run and walk off the Giants. The 23-year-old prospect has produced following an 0-for-30 run in the majors this season. Lawlar has hit safely in eight of his last 10 appearances (six starts), going 9-for-26 (.346) with six doubles, five RBI, two steals and five runs scored.

Carter Kieboom 1B | LAA
Angels' Carter Kieboom: Up in big leagues
The Angels selected Kieboom's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake, and he's starting at first base and batting seventh Tuesday against the Brewers.
The 28-year-old inked a minor-league deal with the Angels in February and will receive a look in the majors with less than two weeks left in the regular season. Kieboom has an .817 OPS with nine homers and 11 steals in 93 contests with Salt Lake this year and is getting his first game action in the big leagues since 2023.

Jordan Westburg 3B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Activated from 10-day IL
The Orioles activated Westburg (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Westburg wound up missing nearly a month of action with a right ankle sprain but is ready to roll after playing three rehab contests with Triple-A Norfolk. The 26-year-old will retake his third-base job, with Jeremiah Jackson likely reverting to a utility role.
